With the heroes, they're with Julie and her group. Novak is showing Julie and Grayson what they've found down there. He shows them a monitor of the chasm that leads into something. The monitor beeps as they look at the image.
Julie: Oh. Look at the size of that. What is it? A cavern system?
Novak: Uh, looks to me like a subterranean lake. Probably bigger than the one above. (Points at something) You see that gap right there?
Julie: Yeah.
Novak: Quake opened that up. Now it's a connecting passage.
Julie: A lake under a lake?
Novak: That's right. Sorry, it's still your jurisdiction. It's just part of an old volcanic ridge all over this area.
Paula: That's the beauty of it. We're gonna be the first ones to explore it. (To Sam) You got it?
Sam: I don't know why you're getting all excited about that crap. All we ever see is rocks and sand.
Grayson: Yeah, but this cavern has been there for many years. No one's found it before, or explore it yet. You should be grateful for that.
Paula looks at him, and chuckles. He winks at her. With the heroes, they decide to help out the divers by using an underwater camera drone. Kai and his friends take one out.

They set it in the water, and Sora controls it. It dives down, and he turns on its flashlights. And just in time. Paula and Sam both get their diving gear on, and dive in. They swim down to the chasm. The drone follows them. Sora carefully controls it, making sure that it doesn't hit them. With the other boat, Julie looks down into the water.
Julie: You should probably warn them that it's not very pretty down there. The tourists treat this lake like it's a garbage can.
Grayson: Which we hate the most.
Novak: (Talks to the others on the radio) How you guys doing? Sheriff and deputy say it's a regular treasure trove down there. So I got dibs on the spent bottles of Axe body spray and back issues of Juggs.
Paula on radio: I got dibs on home appliances.
Sam on radio: I got dibs on missing college girls.
The heroes heard them on the drone's speakers, and they shake their heads at this. The drone drives further in the water, and then, they come to the chasm. The drone looks down.
Sora: Holy cow.
Kai: Oh, my gosh.
Sae: That is like the longest chasm I've ever seen. Looks at the way it's cracked. The quake really opened it up.
Toji: Yeah. Sora, go down.
Sora hovers the drone down into the chasm. Sam and Paula follow it.
