I choked down a cough and covered my mouth with a paper towel as I finished my bong rip. Brent snickered as he grabbed it back from my hand.

“C'mon man. I thought you've smoked before.” He taunted jokingly and sparked it. I pulled the paper towel away from my mouth and cleared my throat. “I haven't had any for a minute. My ma’ caught me doing it one day and has me on some location tracker app.”

He coughed as soon as the cloud of smoke came from his mouth and passed the bong my way. “Dude, that sucks ass. You can always come over to my place and hang.” He offered as I was in the middle of my hit.

I blew it out and raised my eyebrow at him as I coughed it up. It wasn't as bad as that first hit. “What? I'm serious. You're a cool dude, Lucian.” Brent told me as he put the bong back into his bag after pouring the water out. “What app can I contact you on?” I asked.

He held his hand out and I snorted. This dude was weird as fuck and I was about to hang out with him. I unlocked my phone and dropped it into his hand. I watched as he typed around then handed it back. It was his phone number and he set his contact to those falling leaves emoji with an uppercase B.

“Well. Shit. Thanks dude.” I sent him a small message so he received my number now instead of later. it'd be awkward to do it later.

“No problem man. I better head off. Here.” He handed me a nug and a bowl. “I know that you're stressed. I'll tell the teacher something stupid for some reason you're late.”

“Brent.. I dont think I should come in super stoked dude…” He shook his hand at me and began to walk back to the school. I rolled my eyes and sat there until I saw him go inside.

Brent was a cool dude and seemed to be a possible friend. I just don't know if I wanted Viper to be around him. I broke the nug down with my fingers and packed the bowl the best I could.

I brought it up to my lips and sparked it up. I took my hit and leaned my head back, closing my eyes and blowing it out. My head change was starting to begin and now I was grinning a lot like Brent. I looked down at the bowl before at the school.

I wonder how Viper would feel. I hate thinking about it but I cared about how she thought about me. I took a stronger hit. I hated how she thought I'd care if she was with Keion. I puffed on the bowl until it was out.

I shoved it into my bag and pulled my cologne out. It wouldn't help much but I sprayed myself a good few times before tossing it into the backpack as well and zipping it up.

I swung it over and walked into the school building and up the stairs. The first door on the left was my classroom and she still seemed to be talking.. which meant the attention fell onto me as the door opened.

My teacher immediately scrunched her nose up. “Now I understand why your counselor session took so long.” She scoffed and nodded her head for me to sit. I rolled my eyes. A therapy session? Really Brent?

I made my way and sat between Keion and Viper. Keion immediately glanced at me and cleared his throat. “played in the grass, did you?” He asked sarcastically. “You should know that stuff is bad for you.”

“I know.” I told him as I pulled out my wired headphones and put the side he's on in. I glanced at Viper who seemed to be staring at me.

“You're a fucking idiot.” she stated before turning to the front of the class. “You aren't?” I teased her quietly and grabbed her twisted curl and pulled on it.

She swatted my finger away and fixed the part I pulled out. Tension rose behind me as I talked to Viper until she handed out sheets for us to do. Front and back.

I grunted and pulled my pencil out and began writing down my name and the date. Though, I'm starting to wish I didn't sit with them. They were texting each other through their phones and it was pissing me off hearing her giggles and his stupid snorts.

“What's so funny, guys?” I spoke up after finishing the second question. Viper just turned her phone off and smirked at me. “Keion was calling Brent gay. He keeps looking over here.”

“Hey, Keion, dude?” I asked and turned my head over to him. “Quit calling every guy you see ‘gay’. You're making yourself more and more obvious you're probably gay yourself.”

Keion just opened his mouth before pressing it into a thin line and began to work on his work. Viper scoffed and smacked me harder than she did last time. “Could you stop being an ass? Just because you don't like him doesn't mean you can toss him like trash.”

“Why are you taking his side? You don't know him like that, Viper. You just started dating him.” I told her. She crossed her arms over her chest. “You don't know anything about our relationship or how it's going. Stay out of it, please?” She told me and looked at me with begging eyes.

I shook my head and blew the subject off. I didn't want my high to leave any faster than it was going to.
