a letter was about to come at their doorsteps, deciding if Y/n took after her mother or father
waking up at 8 am in the morning due to excitement she made her way downstairs to her mother making her favorite breakfast to comfort her if she wouldn't be able to share the magical ride and her father sitting on the table reading a wizarding world newspaper having a lot more confidence knowing whatever happens he'd still be proud of his daughter
Y/N POV:
I looked at the time in anticipation greeting my mom and dad and sitting at the table waiting for breakfast. I kept looking around here and there to see if anything had dropped...
"Y/n sweetie, why so tense?" dad asked. "I'm not tense dad it's just...what if I'm...not? "
"Sweetheart you do know we're proud of you anyway right? "
"Yes dad of course but it's just that magic seems so fun..."
"If it's meant for you, it'll be there for you. Now just relax and enjoy the food your mom's making it's rare to see her this nice" he whispered the last part
"You know I may not be a witch but I do have the superpower of super hearing of all mothers don't you?" mom said
we all just laughed at that and we were about to eat accepting the fact that maybe I wasn't meant to be a wit- *ding dong*
the bell rings and we all look at each other for a second, and after 2 seconds of realization I jumped off my seat and almost fell but ran towards the door and opened it too see...no one...?
I was about to turn back my eyes fell on the door mat...a letter...A LETTER?
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" I screamed and mom dad came running dad hiding his wand behind him incase. "WHAT. WHO. WHERE." mom asked and I turned around slowly lifting my hands and a smile forming on my face showing the letter with a red stamp.
"God Y/n honey..." mom started but soon smiled at me and dad leaned on mom giving her a small hug then they both bent down and hugged me and after a second pulling away ,I jumped around the house in excitement
"bipity bopity boo woo hooooo" I was so happy
"now that you're going to go to hogwarts it's better I take you to Diagon Alley we need to get you ready to go"
