I see the clock hitting 7 when I woke up due to loud banging on my door. I quickly go and open the door to see 5 women standing there.
"Yes, how can I help you?" I ask politely but I just want to bang the door on their faces and go run to get dressed.
"Ma'am, Aarvik sir booked the appointment from our saloon." A girl in front tells me politely.
Oh Oh OHHHHH, this is what he was talking about. I mutter a small sorry and make them come in. I get dressed in a beautiful white lehenga without a drape, with slit from the upper thigh and as they said it just took an hour for them to get me ready.
I must say my mom has great taste in choosing clothes and this one just looks so hot and modern and it just screams me.
I thank them and go downstairs to see everyone just reaching their. I sigh in relief that I got on time. The performances started soon after with the first one to be of my niece, Riddhi. She is my cousin's daughter. She rocked the floor with her performance on 'Kaala Chashma' . And I must tell you her moves were so fine.
Everyone performed one after the other. The elders did a couple dance and trust me they looked super cute with the females being all shy and the males teasing them. Then maa called me forward. I instantly became so nervous, I unintentionally looked at my right and saw all three of them looking at me. My eyes first connected with Aarvik's and he nod telling me to go. Then I saw Kavish, he had no expression on his face, but still I can see his eyes shining happily. And lastly Rivaan he just smirked at me and raised his glass drinking from it.
I shook my head and went towards mumma, "Give your best." she says with a small smile and Adi bhai nods at me to go with a small smile playing on his lips.
The anchor called me on stage, "Now it's time for the most awaiting performance which is from the groom's sister, Lavanya Rajput."
After the dance where everyone cheered and clapped for me I sighed in relief that I didn't made fun of myself that too on stage.
I walked around the Sangeet hall, greeting guests. I finally got around to socializing. I didn't think I'd be able to avoid it much longer anyway.
Riya Aunty, Adi bhai's mother in law, smiles warmly when she sees me. "You danced wonderfully, Lavanya," she says.
I try to smile at her. "Um... thank you, Aunty," I fumble out. It's a shame I can't take a compliment as gracefully as it has been delivered. "You were amazing on-stage," I compliment her. She was truly amazing up there, I even heard someone say she was a classical dancer.
