The air conditioning within the Animatronic Maintenance room hummed idly as the cranking of a spanner filled the room.

"Okay.. Could you try moving your arm?" The maintenance person spoke, setting the spanner on the table next to the animatronic ferret.

Farmer Felix, the ferret animatronic, waved his arm around before letting out a robotic, relieved sigh.

"Ah, j-j-just like new!" The ferret exclaimed, his voice box glitching, "Thanks again, [Name]. Th-These kids can get r-really rowdy.."

"Sure, your arm's just like new, but your voice box isn't.." The maintenance person sighed, "Don't worry, I can get that fixed by tonight."

They went over to the filing cabinet, which contained information on how to fix the animatronics' systems.

"H-H-Hold your horses, kiddo," Felix glitched out, stumbling off the table with a metal clunk. "C'mon, it's g-gettin' late.. Don't ya need r-rest?"

[Name] had a habit of doing overtime, sometimes without their boss even noticing they're still in the building.

You could say they put the 'over' in 'overtime'.. And 'overworked'.

They sighed, turning to face the animatronic. "I don't need rest, I can do just fine working late. Hell, I can function without needing sleep!"

[Name] lightheartedly joked at the end.

Although Felix's permanent, still expression couldn't show it, he was concerned for [Name].

"Y'know how w-we usually shut down to r-recharge, right?" He continued, "J-just like us, ya gotta take some t-t-time to recharge t-too."

As much as [Name] wanted to deny it, Felix was.. Not wrong.

"Look, I'll go home in a bit, alright? I just wanna figure out how to fix that voice box of yours first." They promised, their arms crossed while they leaned against the filing cabinet.

The animatronic ferret let out a robotic sigh before putting a hand on his hip.

"If you're not o-out that door by 2, I'm k-k-kickin' your butt out m'self." He threatened lightheartedly, [Name] chuckling in response.

"Alright, Dad." They joke, pushing off the filing cabinet and opening it.

"I-If I could, I would b-be!" He chuckled.

[Name] makes their way toward the door at around 1:50AM, as they'd promised to Felix.

Sometimes they wondered how the animatronics always seemed so lifelike, being able to hold conversation and even express concern for their sleep schedule.

The future is now, isn't it?

As [Name] walked, they were suddenly startled by the sound of clanking metal footsteps against the carpeted ground.

"Leaving already?" spoke the familiar voice of the playhouse's titular mascot, Percy Poodle.

"Oh, uh.. Yeah. I guess so." [Name] shrugged, "Felix threatened to kick me out himself if I didn't leave by 2.." They chuckled.

Percy's robotic chuckle echoed throughout the room before he let out the sound of a sigh.

"Well, I'll go ahead and recharge. I know it doesn't look like it, but I'm all tuckered out after today." He quipped.

"Fridays, eh?" [Name] joked. "Well, I'll see you tomorrow then."

The maintenance person and the poodle animatronic said their goodbyes before [Name] finally left.
