The Flash
Ava was woken up to a loud knocking on her apartment door. She slowly got out of bed and walked to the door. The second she pulled it open she was met with the face of her best friend and upstairs neighbor Charlie Conway. "What do you want Spazway?" She groaned knowing it would be something stupid. "All I need is a dollar, Please?" he added the last part as an after thought. She thought it over for a while knowing it would annoy the crap out of him. Then she just walked away. "Come on Ava just give me a- oh."  She turned around with a dollar in her hand "Don't get caught." she said as she smiled. "Thanks Flash!" Charlie yelled as he ran out the door.

Since Ava was awake now she decided to stay awake. She walked over to her kitchen counter and noticed a note from her dad. She didn't even have to read it she already knew he had left to go away on business, but she decided to look it over anyways at least should could know where he was. "Hey kid Im leaving for Maryland today, I might be gone for a while so if you want you can stay with the Conways. See you when I see you." It was the same lame kind of note he left about once a month. Ava was used to it by now she practically had her own room at the Conways now. But it still hurt.

After a few hours Ava decided to get ready for hockey practice so she got up from the couch turned off the TV and headed for her room. Ava was a pretty girl and lots of guys liked her at school, but she didn't really care about her looks. It seemed she was pretty without even trying. So she just slipped on her North Stars sweater and some sweatpants and grabbed her hockey bag. Then she put on her roller blades and headed out the door.

As she skated around Minnesota on her way to the old pond where her team District Five had their practices, She felt the cool winter air on her face as she neared the pond she heard screaming and she automatically recognized the voices it was Charlie, Lester Averman, Dave Karp, and Peter they were being chased by a red sports car they all ran by her saying hello one by one. She smirked to herself and kept skating to the pond.

Ava arrived at the pond a little after the boys. They were all skating around horribly but she still put her skates on and joined them. Ava Was by far the best on the team some may even say in the league, everyone wondered why she stayed with district 5 even the team themselves but they learned to accept it because they loved her and were her friends.

As she skated onto the familiar ice she heard Charlie, Terry and Goldberg arguing. " Keep it down Please come on Theres no need for this,Lets talk, i'm your friend aren't I? Goldberg pleaded as he backed away from the goal. "Come on Goldberg at least try and stop it, Cause i'm getting tried of chasing the puck!" Terry yelled back at him. "Yeah Goldie you have to at least make an effort or none of us are going to get anywhere this season." Ava said "Ava your the best on the team your the only one getting somewhere at all, but Terry come on man be careful it almost hit me that time!" Goldberg complained. "Goldberg you're the goalie it's supposed to hit you." Charlie said with the most annoyed look on his face. Ava skated away not wanting to be involved but as she did she heard Goldberg say "doesn't that seem stupid to anyone else." she shook her head fondly at her friends.
