"Pin, no!" shouts Gaty. "Don't you dare stop breathing!" In a moment of poor judgment, she whacks Pin in the back, sending Pin reeling in pain.

"Gaty," she mumbles between coughs, "stop. We both know I won't last. I just need..." Her vision grows dark at the corners, and she claws at her throat, spit and blood bubbling out of her mouth. Speaking was a mistake.

Pin's arm falls, and Gaty rushes to grab the phone, which has stopped ringing. Coiny answers the call.

His voice comes out of the speaker, laced with static. "Uh, who is this?"

Coiny stares at the phone in confusion, holding the speaker to his head. All he can pick up is yelling and coughing. "What's going on?"

He's concerned for whoever's on the other end, that's for sure. Puffball floats closer, leaning in to pick up on potential messages.

"Coiny, it's G-in trouble."

"What? You're breaking up." The messenger speaks hastily, desperately. What they have to say must be important. "Can you repeat that?"

"It's Gaty, an-is sick-needs-to you."

Gaty! So there's a way for him to communicate with Pin after all. Coiny feels weightless, like someone's turned off gravity.

"Oh, Gaty! How've you been? Long time no see."

He's elated. At this moment, nothing would be better than to jump off a skyscraper and soar above the cityscape below. Coiny feels like he could fly. Pin! This connection isn't cutting it, though.

"Pin nee-to tell-ing," Gaty says.

"Look, you're breaking up. I'll call you back, alright?"

A scream pierces the air as he presses the button to hang up. He wonders what she was trying to tell him. He also considers whether she would give the phone to Pin if he asked her to.

"What was that?" asks Bomby, echoing Coiny's thoughts. "Yeah, I wanna know," Naily chimes in. Coiny scratches his head and coughs gruffly. "Well, all I know is that Gaty called me. I hung up because her voice kept cutting off."

"Call her back!" Bomby demands.

"I was just going to!" Coiny raises his hands in the air, then presses the button to call. Gaty picks up within the first two rings.

"Hello?" she sputters, her voice frenzied and airy. Hey, it worked! He can hear her now. "Whoa. You're gonna have to cool it," Coiny says. "What were you talking about?"

"Coiny, Pin has fallen very ill."

His face pales. "How ill?"

"She's barely able to breathe right now. We're trying everything we can."

"You've gotta help her!" Coiny sweats from the stress.

"We aren't aware of the exact nature of her disease, but she and I think that seeing you will somehow improve her condition. Pin's wanted to visit for a while, but Two said it was against the rules."

"Well, I'm stuck here! I can't do anything." Something soft tickles the back of Coiny's dry throat. "And she needs help right now."

"Coiny, I should probably hand the phone to Pin, but she can't talk-oh my plank, I didn't think you could be so dense. She's in love with you," Gaty spits. For such earth-shattering words, they spill out of her mouth like wet tissues.

And Coiny laughs in disbelief.

"Come on, Gaty, you know you can't joke about that stuff. Pin-cough-would never... And what do you mean I'm dense? She's- you honestly had me worried there-"
