Meanwhile, Sasuke faced Kagenami in a battle of illusion and reality. Kagenami’s genjutsu was overwhelming, blurring the line between the real world and hallucinations. But Sasuke’s mastery of the Sharingan and his own perfected genjutsu allowed him to break through, ultimately trapping Kagenami in his own illusion. Victorious, Sasuke reflected on the threat these enemies posed—someone was organizing them with knowledge of each Kage’s weaknesses.

The battles left each team shaken. When they regrouped, they reported to Naruto, who realized these attacks were merely tests of their power. The Lotus Prophet was coming, and he had used his generals to gauge Konoha’s strength.
