Murat returns to the hospital and a nurse confronts him. " Mr. Sarsilmaz, where have you been? We have been calling you for the past few hours."
Murat to the nurse, "What happened? Is Hayat okay?"
The nurse says, "The doctor needs to talk to you about your wife. Please go to cabin number 10" and leaves a bewildered Murat standing in the hospital's entrance hall.
Murat goes to the doctor's cabin and knocks on the door.
Doctor "Mr. Sarsilmaz, please come in and take a seat"
Murat " Doctor is Hayat okay, the nurse did not give me any details of her condition."
Dr "Mr. Sarsilmaz, I am sorry to inform you that your wife's condition took a turn for the worst after you left, she slipped into a coma."
Murat heard the word coma and felt as if the ground beneath his feet had slipped away. Hayat, his Hayat was unresponsive. He felt as if the world was spinning.
"Mr. Sarsilmaz, Mr. Sarsilmaz, are you okay? Drink some water" Murat heard the doctor telling him.
"Doctor, what are you saying? Wake her up, make my Hayat better! I'll pay any amount you want! Call specialists from anywhere in the world! Make her better!" exclaimed Murat.
"Mr. Sarsilmaz, it is not about calling specialists or giving medicine. When you were gone, Mrs Sarsilmaz woke up for a few minutes,. Shewas calling out for you. Unfortunately, a nurse from the staff told Mrs Sarsilmaz that she saw you heading out of the hospital without giving any further information on how to contact you or whether to call you once your wife woke up. This led to your wife going into shock. We tried our best to prevent her from slipping into a coma but it feels as if she has given up the will to live. She is not responding to any medicine or treatment." explained the doctor.
Listening to what the doctor was saying shook Murat to the core. His Hayat had given up the will to live! Impossible! His mind was screaming at him. But then he started to see flashes of his behavior towards her in the past few months since they had gotten married.
The time he jerked her hand and made her spill hot coffee on their wedding night. Telling her that if she ever leaves, she would not be welcome back. Asking her to fulfill her wifely duties. Shouting and pushing her, which caused her to almost die in the burning cabin. Telling her that he could never trust her. Not letting her leave but never letting her be close to him. His head hurt with each painful recollection of the times he had left her hand despite promising never to do so again.
His heart was bursting with regret but still his ego would not let him accept that he was the one at fault when all the evidence pointed towards her giving into Emre's sick demands to get back the Sarte shares, otherwise why would she be in his car with him alone in the middle of the night without informing her husband?
He had too many questions, and right now, the one way he saw to find the answers was to confront the only other person who knew why Hayat was in that car. It was time to confront Emre and see what justification could he provide that would quieten this turmoil in him so that he could go back to focusing solely on being his Hayat's old Murat, the one that could pull her from this trauma and help them both heal.
