Chole pov:

I woke up the next morning feeling a bit stiff from the long flight and the passionate lovemaking that had followed. As I sat up, Maria lay beside me, sleeping soundly, her gentle breathing a soothing melody.

I leaned down and kissed her forehead, savoring the warmth of her skin. She stirred slightly but didn't wake. I smiled, knowing she needed the rest.

Easing myself off the bed, I padded barefoot past the stairs leading downstairs and made my way upstairs, through the narrow hallway, into the kitchen. The morning sunlight streaming through the windows highlighted the cozy Cajun decor, and I felt grateful for this new life with Maria.

I slipped into the bathroom adjacent to the basement door, the cool tile floor, a welcome relief for my sore feet. As I began my morning routine, my mind wandered back to the previous night's intimacy.

Maria's touch still lingered on my skin, and I couldn't help but smile. Our love had only grown stronger since I moved in. I felt blessed to have found my home – not just in this charming bayou town, but in Maria's arms.

After freshening up, I planned to start breakfast, perhaps some beignets and Cajun-style breakfast sandwiches – spicy andouille sausage, crispy bacon, and melted cheddar cheese on crusty French bread. Maria loved my cooking, and I loved seeing her smile.

As I exited the bathroom, the creaky wooden floorboards beneath my feet echoed through the hallway. I glanced at Maria, still sleeping peacefully. My heart swelled with love for this woman, this life, and my little slice of heaven

Maria pov :

I awakened to the heavenly aromas of breakfast cooking, my stomach growling in anticipation. Like a zombie rising from the dead, I bolted upright, tossing off the covers. My senses followed the irresistible scent, leading me to the kitchen.

As I entered, my eyes landed on Chloe, expertly juggling pans and utensils. Her dreadlocks were tied back in a neat ponytail, revealing her radiant face. A sprinkle of flour dusted her cheek, and her bright smile illuminated the room. My heart swelled with love.

"Morning, beautiful," Chloe said, flashing her warm smile. "Cajun-inspired breakfast sandwiches, just the way you like them."

My mouth watered at the sizzling andouille sausage, crispy bacon, and melted cheddar cheese on crusty French bread. Chloe's cooking always amazed me.

I sidled up behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist. "You're my favorite wake-up call," I whispered, nuzzling her neck.

Chloe chuckled, her hands continuing to move with precision. "Glad to be of service."

I released her, taking a seat at the kitchen table. The morning sunlight streaming through the windows highlighted our cozy Decatur home, filling me with gratitude for our life together.

As Chloe slid a steaming sandwich onto my plate, I took a bite, and flavors exploded on my tongue. "Mmm... this is heavenly."

Chloe beamed, joining me at the table with her own plate. Her dreadlocks framed her face, and her eyes sparkled with joy.

We savored our breakfast together, enjoying the quiet morning, each other's company, and the warmth of our Midwestern home.

Chloe's POV:

I lounged on the couch, clad in my favorite sports bra and black sweatpants, my dreadlocks tied up in a messy bun. I savored each bite of my breakfast sandwich, relishing the flavors and textures.

But my gaze kept drifting to Maria, seated across from me. Her radiant smile illuminated the room, and her bright eyes sparkled with joy. Her beauty captivated me – not just her physical appearance, but the kindness, intelligence, and love shining from within.

As I watched, Maria laughed at something on her phone, her shoulders relaxing. My heart swelled with affection. I adored the way she lit up when happy, the way her whole being radiated warmth.

I reached out, and Maria intertwined our fingers, her touch sending shivers down my spine. We shared a tender moment, connected in a way that transcended words.

"You're beautiful, Maria," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

Maria's cheeks flushed, and she smiled. "You're pretty stunning yourself, Chloe."

Our eyes locked, and the world around us melted away. In that instant, nothing else mattered – just us, our love, and this quiet morning together.

As we finished breakfast, I knew this was my happy place – surrounded by love, comfort, and the simple pleasures of life with Maria.

Maria's POV:

My eighteen-year-old sister Miranda walked through the front door, exhausted from her shift. "Hey, Cho," she said with a warm smile, using her nickname for Chloe.

Miranda's gaze flicked to us lounging on the couch, but she didn't linger. She trudged upstairs to her room, ready to collapse into bed.

I turned to Chloe, taking her hand in mine. "Let's get some fresh air," I suggested.

Chloe nodded, and we strolled outside to the front porch. The morning sunlight cast a warm glow over our quiet neighborhood.

We sat together on the porch swing, hands still entwined. The gentle breeze carried the sweet scent of blooming flowers.

"Love mornings like this," Chloe said, her voice serene.

"Me too," I replied, squeezing her hand. "Just us, together."

We sat in comfortable silence, watching the world wake up around us.

A bird sang its morning song, and Chloe smiled. "Beautiful," she whispered.

I leaned over, brushing a kiss against her cheek. "You're the beauty," I whispered back.

Chloe's eyes sparkled, and she leaned into me.

In this peaceful moment, everything felt right with the world.
