So... What happened? -he said with a raspy voice, serious look on his eyes.
It started anywhere in between, at the start and at the end of the cycle.
August 18, 2016
I woke up feverish, a headache, numbed out body, cold but sweating so much. I wanted water, I tried getting up, opened my eyes properly to see where I was. At the front of my front door, the oddest of all places to fall asleep. Asleep? When did I? Didn't I go to college yesterday?
I got up, hazy and weakened I got into the shower and opened the water valve. The hot water run in on my skin felt refreshing. Still felt like shit for a while but I got out of the bath and managed to go to my room. I decided to go to college again after feeling a little better. It was early after all, I got clothed and headed out to the station.
At the station I felt eyed, like there were eyes on me, strange but when looking around I didn't notice anybody looking at me or following me before that. After a bit I just ignored it and continued my day.
Everything felt... strange...
I got into my classroom a bit later, got there before most students so I expected to see some people just not make it. It's how it goes generally. The professor entered as half the class was inside the room and greeted us. Reminding us of the fact we had a paper to give next week, to remember to work with your partners.
I raised my hand, asking if he'd seen Kevin, my partner assigned.
His answer puzzled me. "We don't have a Kevin in this class"
"You're alone for your tasks because you're the last one and preferred doing it alone remember?"
Perplexed I didn't know what to say, I answered yeah... sure... and he continued with the class as usual.
However, what about Kevin? I did have a partner assigned, we had 28 students so we all would get a partner. Right?, I asked the professor how many students were in the class for this semester. He took a look at the sheet with the students attendance names and he read 27.
After that I felt sick in the stomach, I went ahead and got up, took my bag and left to the bathroom.
We didn't have no Kevin in the classroom, it didn't make any sense as I had seen him days prior and the class knew about him because he was the typical talker in the classroom. In fact, I knew him for far longer than I would like.
