(5)Questions and Feelings

It had been a few days since Shelly had run out on Tisha after her jump scare for a question.
Tisha worried about Shelly a bit, did being asked to keep a promise really mean that much to her?
Was it really that tough talking about it?
She personally didn't find keeping secrets that hard.
Right now she was heading to Shelly's room with the container full of cookies that she ran off, forgetting.
Tisha had a particular tidy talent for blackmail, she didn't like using it but sometimes she did to get info if she was desperate.
But the blackmail she used she would make sure wasn't permanent, like, one time toodles stole some pieces from Sprout and Cosmos fresh cookie-brownie cake, and it got blamed on pebble but Tisha was wiping down the counters for them and Toodles clearly didn't see her.
So she said she'd tell Sprout and Cosmo if she didn't tell them all they did before they showed up.
She said they were "closely hugging," aka, smooching.
Tisha knew this but back when she had her talk with Shelly babbling about Vee she spaced it out until the Ammonite gossip brought it up.
Toodles freaked so bad she started crying after, begging Tisha not to tell on her.
She did feel bad for making the little 8 ball cry of course.
Anyways, back to her main focus, Shelly and finding out if her claim is correct.
She made it up to the Fossils door, tapping a few light knocks onto the door.
Shelly opened it, not expecting the person she ran away from to be at the door but also expecting it so her expression was pretty awkward.
"Hey... Tisha..."
Shelly stammered out awkwardly, barely able to look Tisha in the eyes at the moment.
Tisha, however, just wanted to get straight to the point.
"Tell me if Astro has a crush on Brightney or not or I'll just go tell Vee that-"
Shelly immediately slapped her hand over Tisha's mouth.
"Tell me what?"
The tv woman of almost said sentence said, coming from behind the tissue box.
"Nothing!!! Nothing at all Vee!"
Shelly said with the most awkward look on her face ever, Tisha didn't bother resuming her sentence.
She just looked at Shelly, "well? You want me to keep my mouth shut right?"
Shelly pulled Tisha into her room, baffling Vee for a moment.
"Sorry Vee! Important business talk!!!"
Then Shelly slammed the door in an instant, clearly she hadn't noticed the little gift box in Vee's hands, a fossil wrapping with a beige ribbon wrapped around it.
Vee frowned slightly, not understanding what that whole scene before her was, but she knew it was something about her since she was mentioned.
What didn't Shelly want Tisha to tell her?
In Shelly's room
Tisha didn't seem to express any discomfort or mercy after being dragging into her best friend's room.
"Fine! I'll tell you! Just please don't tell Vee!"
Tisha perked up a bit at Shelly reluctant giving up of the info on Astro's crush.
"But first, how did you know that Brightney was the possible crush of Astro?"
Tisha looked around for a moment, "I see a lot of things Shelly, I may be a clean freak but I'm not stupid."
Shelly knew that, her clean freak friend had an eyes for things just like Rodger, except hers was more emotion and Rodger's was just being able to figure out a mystery.
"Yeah... I know... and yes... Astro has a crush on Brightney... but why use such cruel tactics to do this?!"
Shelly was already set off a bit but she couldn't do much against the blackmail mastermind.
"I wouldn't have gotten you to spill any other way! I had to know! I like Brightney! I have even since I liked Teagan! I just thought I had a better chance with her! Had I known she was gonna reject me I would've tried getting closer to Brightney instead!"
Shelly was shocked at the fact, she didn't even suspect that Tisha liked Brightney, but she wasn't bright like her either.
Shelly was pretty blind with love, but she understood her friend's reasoning to a certain extent.
"But that doesn't make blackmailing me any better!"
"I know it doesn't, Shelly. But I knew you wouldn't speak otherwise! You would've kept running from me until you died!"
That wasn't completely true, Shelly would've cracked eventually, especially if Tisha kept pestering her.
"But please! Help me with this Shells! I beg you! I just wanna have someone! Brightney is amazing! Think like how you see Vee but as Brightney in my perspective!"
Shelly furrowed her eyebrows slightly, she knew how she felt but didn't exactly think Vee would ever like her beyond a friendly manner.
"I- I'll try..."
Shelly had already come to terms with the fact Vee may never be in love with her.
Tisha hugged Shelly with extreme excitement at her reluctant acceptance.
"How about this, to make both ends fair, you help me with Brightney, and I'll help you with Vee!"
Shelly perked up at the offer, but only slightly, keeping rejection in her field of love with Vee.
"Fine... I guess that's fair..."
