"You just don't get it, Leo," Raph shouted. "Your ego's way too high for someone your size."
"Come on, Raphie, my ego is just fine as it is! The mission went well, I don't even know why you're making such a big deal out of this." Leo responded smugly.
"Yeah, sure it went perfectly fine. You probably killed someone, you were reckless! You're always reckless!"
"Reckless? I wouldn't say reckless, I would say," Leo ponders for a second. "Confident."
"Confident? Confident?? I'll show YOU confident!"
Raph tries to punch Leo but he swiftly dodges.
"Come on, bro. Is that all ya got? Better luck next time, bud."
Raph immediately doubles in size, a red outline glowing around him, and is about to break his nonexistent nose when Splinter walks in.
"Boys, what is going on??" Splinter groans, rubbing his eyes. Raph's mystic infused rage simmers down before trying to explain.
"Leo was-"
"Ap up bup! No blaming, I am too tired for this."
"But you literally just asked what was going on-"
"I said no blaming!" He yawns. "Just- keep it down boys, I need some rest. Please?"
"Wh-"
Leo cuts Raph off. "Of course we'll keep it down, pops! Big ol' Raph here should probably go to bed too." Leo says, pushing Splinter to his room, eyeing his older brother. After Leo settles Splinter into bed, he walks to his room sneakily, since Raph is sitting on the couch, obviously upset, but he doesn't feel like arguing with him again.
Once Leo quietly shuts the door of his room, he immediately falls onto his bed and sighs in exasperation.
'Ugh, I am really craving some pizza right now.' Leo thinks to himself as his eyes fall on his twin katanas. 'Hmmm, it wouldn't hurt to just portal over to Run of the Mill for some food, right? Yeah, yeah it wouldn't.'
Leo picks up his swords and makes a portal large enough for him to fit into and teleports to Run of the Mill in the Hidden City. Leo and his brothers always go here, and rightfully so, because the pizza there is absolutely perfecto. Does he need to go on a diet? The parlor is as busy as ever, but Leo miraculously manages to find a booth that's free.
Once he sits down, he starts tapping away at his phone when a familiar voice greets him.
"Hello sir, I'll be your waiter for tonight, what can I get you?"
His white fuzzy arms and legs peek through the waiters' apron and uniform under, and his long ears are tied up into a topknot of some sort, with a blue hair tie, along with what seem to be well kept bangs that almost touch his bright red eyes, staring into Leo's, shades of maroon and the color of roses engulf his irises. His long eyelashes are surrounded by clean eyeliner, a brighter shade than his eyes. Leo can't help but stare. "He's so beautiful," Leo muttered, barely a whisper. 'FUCK!' he yells inside his head, praying that Mr. Hot Waiter didn't hear.
Usagi most definitely heard him but decides not to engage. "Heyyy, I've seen you before. Don't you come here with your friends a lot?
"wha- Oh, you mean my brothers? Yeah, they're doin' stuff, I just decided to come here on my own. Um.
My name's Leo, by the way." He rambles, still flustered.
"That's a beautiful name!" The furry Yokai responds. Leo has most likely invented a new shade of red, considering how hot his face is.
"Call me Usagi, nice to meet you!" He bows.
"N-nice to meet you too, Usagi." Leo says. He thankfully didn't butcher his name, as he does that a lot with new people. He can't believe he's actually talking to somebody, let alone THE waiter at Run of the Mill, and without his brothers teasing him! AND he said his name was beautiful!!!
"Well, is there something you want to order? You've been sitting there for a bit without saying anything." Usagi asked, his head cocked to the right.
"O-Oh! Yeah, erm, just a pepperoni. Um. Please?" Leo is still red as a tomato, and when Usagi leaves, his head hits the table as he sighs a little too loud. 'That was loud. I wonder if anyone heard me?' Leo ponders as he looks around the restaurant to see plenty of unique Yokai sitting at tables and, thankfully, minding their own business. While Leo waits for his pizza, he rests his head on his hands while he thinks about ways to get Usagi's number.
'Hmm, what if I just ask for his number when he comes back here? No, that's too upfront. His shift ends at 10, right?' Leo looks at his royal blue watch, a gift from Splinter, though maybe a bit backhanded as he complained about Leo using his phone too often, in typical boomer fashion. 3 numbers sprawl across the watch. 9:42. 'Yeah, his shift's almost over, I'll wait for him and then we can hang out!' He pumps his fist in succession.
After a few minutes, Leo catches Usagi swerving around tables like a boss.
'Like a boss,' Leo scoffs. 'Stupid Raph and his stupid catchphrase. I have a catchphrase too, you know.' Leo regains his focus, though still pretty annoyed, as Usagi walks up to him with a steaming hot pepperoni pizza.
"Aaaaand here you go, Leo! Anything else you need?" Usagi tells Leo with a bit too much enthusiasm while bending over to give Leo his comically large pizza, their eyes meeting.
"Oh! Actually, isn't your shift over soon? I have a feeling my lonely ass won't eat an entire pizza, so would you wanna hang out some more after you're done working?" Leo asks. A grin of pride creeps up onto his lips, as he actually managed to make plans with his super cool hot waiter (friend??) Usagi.
"Hm, odd request but..." Usagi thinks for a bit. "Sure! Sit right there, I'll be back in 15." Usagi responds.
