DEMESY

Demesy consists of three islands:

I. The upper island of the region, Homines Insulae, where all the higher-class citizens reside.

II. The middle island, Dux Sanctuary, served as the command centres.

III. . The third island, Militare Zona, is a heavily militarized zone.

Demesy is connected by two bridges, Axon Islet and Exo Islet, and is encircled by a strategically positioned wall that encompasses all the islands.

The region is protected by the Demesy Legionnaires, also known as the Vanguard. The Vanguard is renowned for their peaceful approach toward all regions outside Demesy's jurisdiction. Violence is not their first choice; rather, it is considered a last resort when absolutely necessary. Demesy stands as a powerful region, maintaining order and stability while promoting diplomacy and cooperation.

Three years later.

Camp Solariz, 10km from Imperium City, Third Island...

Zane and the other recruits stepped off the bus and were immediately met by two stern officers at the camp gate.

"Well? We don't have all day! Get inside, now!"

"Move, move!"

They quickly formed into position.

"Listen up, recruits! You are no longer civilians. You are now trainees for the Vanguard Legionnaires. Welcome to hell!"

"Stand tall, you hopeless scumbags! Chin up!"

The First General and his officers approached the formation.

"Attention!" shouted the Vanguard MSGT. "Welcome to Camp Solariz, recruits. Here, you will be trained to defend this place and your people. You are no longer the ones in need of protection; you will be the protectors. Did I make myself clear?"

"Sir, yes, sir!"

"I can't hear you all!"

"Sir, yes, sir!" the recruits shouted back, their voices echoing through the camp.

"Good. We may have some allies in the south, but not all of our neighbours can be trusted. The Southern Regions harbour threats that could attack us and steal our resources. The safety of our people and the entire island rests in your hands."

As the General concluded his speech, a lieutenant stepped forward.
