We see Tanjiro who was walking through the forest by himself. The reason why he's by himself is because he's heading somewhere. We get a flashback of Tanjiro talking to Rimuru and Shizu about leaving the village for a while.
Rimuru: Wait, you're leaving too?
Tanjiro: Only for a while. There's someone I must find.
Rimuru: And who could that be?
Tanjiro: I have a friend named Kanao Tsuyuri.
Shizu: Kanao? I think I heard that name before.
Rimuru & Tanjiro: You do?
Shizu: *Nods* I have. I remember that I encountered a family being attacked by a monster. Once they were saved. They introduced themselves as the Keren Family. They even showed me their two babies. One of them was named Kanao which caught my attention. That name was Japanese which caught me off guard.
Tanjiro: Did you know where they live?
Shizu: I think they told me that they live in a town called Keren County which is about 3 miles from here.
Tanjiro: Then asked Kumoko to teleport me there.
Rimuru: Well actually, Kumoko already told me that she left a day ago. She said she wanted to get a human form after seeing me in my human form.
Tanjiro: I see. Well, I guess I have to do it the old-fashioned way. Walking my way there.
Rimuru: Just be careful, okay.
Tanjiro: Right.
The flashback ends with Tanjiro heading towards the path thanks to the salamander's sense of smell. As he continued walking down the path, his nose picked up a mysterious and ominous scent. This made Tanjiro's body feel uneasy as he looked around to see who might be watching him.
Tanjiro(Mind): I'm picking up an odd scent around here. Something tells me that someone is watching me and my movement. Could it be a monster or a powerful being? I have to get my guard up before something happens.
Tanjiro continued walking on the path to Keren County when the salamander's nose started to pick up something that was nearby. Tanjiro's body was tense as he looked around and trying to see who was.
Tanjiro: Who's there? Show you're self!
???: *Laughs* Man, you're no ordinary salamander just by looking at you.
Tanjiro: Who are you?
Tanjiro then heard footsteps behind him, so he turned around and saw someone walking out from the shadows. It was a man with a jacket with no sleeves and was wearing sunglasses. The person looking at Tanjiro with a big grin on his face.
