Alastor stared at the open library, first unimpressed when Lucifer first revealed it to him. He had been hesitant to walk inside. Now he strolled smoothly around the room, taking in the book-lined walls and the carpeted flooring, which was much older than its surrounds but still looked brand new. His attention was diverted to Miss Charlie, who was rushing about the room. He approached her, and she looked up at him and said, "Bambi"

Alastor: "Miss Charlie what are you doing"

Charlie: "Hiding, I am playing hide and seek with Razzel, dazzle, Bambi wants to play with us"

Alastor: I apologize, Miss Charlotte, I would but I am currently busy"

Charlie: "Okay"

She nodded and ran off to find another hiding place. He sighed as he approached the books and placed his finger on them, hoping to find answers to his questions. Alastor took up one of the books and opened it; the book's title was about the Beast Basics, but as he read, he discovered nothing regarding the mark on his neck, so he closed it with a groan. He placed his finger on his neck and felt the mark again, feeling the same way he did the first time he touched it.

A few days ago

Alastor delicately put Lucifer on his bed, and hearing his master's quiet breath made him feel comfortable. He looked at his master, only to catch a brief glimpse of Lucifer's mark, which was precisely placed on his master's hand. He took his master's hand, examined it, and touched it just to feel linked to it, as if all he needed was Lucifer, and that he sought what he craved that night when he smelled Lucifer's blood for the first time. His eyes became crimson, his ears twitched, and he went closer to Lucifer, yearning to get closer. However, letting go of Lucifer's hand caused him to snap out of it. He paused as he realized what he was doing and backed away from Lucifer's bed.

He returned to his room, splashed cold water on his face, and grabbed a towel to dry it as he regained consciousness. He looked at the mark on his neck. It was the same hue of gold as Lucifer's, and it was so faint that you couldn't see it if you didn't look too closely. He stroked the mark that lay there, only to have the same feeling recur.

Alastor: "Why": He longed to go back and hold Lucifer, place his ear on Master's chest, and feel his breath as if he needed to hear his heartbeat: "No, I am not some pet"

He figured that this must have been the reason he had grown attached to Lucifer faster than he felt normal. He didn't question why he felt this way with Lucifer, but all he could say under his breath was, "How foolish am I" He needed to find answers on how to remove it for his freedom, in case it was this that caused him to feel this way.

The next morning, Alastor was at Lucifer's office, working on mansion payments such as earnings and cargo payments; he was able to complete this swiftly as he became accustomed to it. He sat in the chair next to Lucifer as he worked, casting little looks at his master, who appeared tired and unhappy, his eyelashes long and light, his eyes glistening blue as the light from the curtain mirrored the beauty in them, and his pupils shining bright gold. He felt immersed in it. Lucifer saw this and looked up from his work.

Lucifer: "Alastor, is there something upsetting you"

Alastor: "No, I'm simply curious if you need my help with anything you're working on"

Lucifer raised an eyebrow, not trusting him, but chose to respond anyway: "I am alright; it's just this Nobel from the south grumbling as usual, trying to purchase a piece of land from me"

Alastor: "Oh"

Lucifer: "You can tell me what you think, like I said you could"
