Why didn't you just say no

I said no, you said just take a bite

I said no thank you, you said just be polite

I said no again, you shook your head

I said...ok then

If that's what it takes to sit at the table

If that's what it takes to make you proud

If that's what it takes to make it stop

Why didn't you just say no

Why didn't you fight

Why didn't you make a scene

I wasn't raised to be seen

I wasn't raised to cause a fuss

I wasn't told it was ok to say no
