As my eyes blinked open, the light of early morning filtered in, casting a soft glow across the room. I lay there for a moment, just breathing, letting the weight of the past few days drift away. For once, I allowed myself to relax, feeling the familiar sense of calm that seemed to follow me when Carlos was around. Turning my head, I saw him leaning against the doorframe, watching me with an unreadable expression. He was in casual clothes, something I hadn't seen since we arrived at the yacht party.
"Good morning," he greeted with a faint, knowing smile.
"Good morning," I replied, stretching. I ran a hand through my hair, a little confused at seeing him in clothes he usually wore around his house. "What's with the casual look?"
Carlos shrugged, crossing his arms. "The last day of the party is different. The guests get the day to themselves to relax, no formal attire required. It's a break from the... social demands." He paused, his gaze flicking over my face with a warm familiarity. "I thought we'd match the mood."
A rare feeling of contentment settled over me. It wasn't often we got these quieter moments. I slipped out of bed, stretching again, before heading to the wardrobe, where I chose a pair of oversized jeans that hung comfortably around my hips and a simple tank top. As I glanced at the mirror, tying my hair back, I caught a glimpse of him watching me with an intensity that made me blush.
"Ready?" he asked as I turned back toward him.
"Yeah." I nodded, feeling a strange mix of excitement and tranquility.
We stepped out onto the deck, which was calm with only a few guests scattered around, each savoring the rare peace of the morning. The sea stretched out in every direction, a vast, serene blue that mirrored the sky. Carlos led me to a small table by the railing, where breakfast was waiting. We sat, the early sunlight warm on our faces, and began eating in comfortable silence.
I found myself telling him little things — memories from my past, moments that had been important to me — things I hadn't talked about in a long time. It felt strange, almost vulnerable, but his quiet interest encouraged me to keep going. In turn, he shared small fragments of his life, giving me a glimpse into the man behind the walls he kept so carefully guarded. It was in these moments, surrounded by nothing but the open sea and soft morning light, that I felt something shift between us, a quiet understanding forming.
After breakfast, we wandered around the deck, occasionally stopping to look out at the horizon. At one point, as we stood by the railing, our shoulders brushed, and I felt the spark, that electric pull that seemed to be growing stronger. Our eyes would meet, lingering for just a heartbeat too long, leaving me wondering if he felt it too.
As the day unfolded, we made our way back to the room for a break. I grabbed a quick shower, relishing the cool water on my skin, and changed into fresh clothes. When I stepped out, I found Carlos standing by the window, his gaze distant as he looked out at the sea. There was something contemplative in his expression, a softness I rarely saw.
He turned, his gaze meeting mine, and for a moment, it felt like the whole world had fallen away, leaving just the two of us in the silence. I felt my pulse quicken, the unspoken tension between us filling the air.
We decided to head back out to the deck in the afternoon, this time settling in a quieter spot where the sun cast a golden glow across the water. We leaned against the railing, shoulder to shoulder, watching as the sunlight danced on the waves. Silence stretched between us, comfortable but charged, each of us lost in our own thoughts. I found myself glancing over at him more often, drawn to the quiet intensity of his presence.
The hours passed easily, and as the sun began to sink, we returned to the deck for one last look. The world was bathed in hues of pink and orange, the colors reflecting off the water in a breathtaking display. Carlos stood close beside me, his shoulder brushing mine, and I looked over to find him already watching me. There was a softness in his eyes, a quiet warmth that made my heart skip a beat.
We stood like that, side by side, as the sun dipped lower, casting long shadows across the deck. I felt the pull between us, stronger than ever, the tension in the air thick and undeniable. Carlos shifted closer, his gaze holding mine, and I felt my breath catch, my heart racing in my chest.
Then, without a word, he leaned in, his lips brushing against mine in a quick, gentle kiss. The touch was brief, but it sent a jolt of electricity through me, every nerve in my body coming alive. His lips were soft, warm, and the feeling was intense, a warmth spreading through me that left me breathless.
When he pulled back, his gaze lingered, an unspoken promise hanging in the air. I felt my cheeks flush, but I didn't look away, letting the moment stretch out as the sun finally disappeared below the horizon.
A small smile played at the corners of his mouth. "We should head back inside," he murmured, his voice a low whisper that sent a shiver down my spine.
"Yeah," I replied, my voice barely more than a whisper, though a part of me wanted to stay right there, lost in the moment.
We returned to the room, the quiet of the evening settling around us. I slipped into more comfortable clothes, feeling the warmth of the day linger in my skin.
"Hm..." I mumbled quietly I said quietly as I settled into bed
"What're you thinking" Carlos asked me settling next to me in the bed
I turned to him and blurted out before I could stop myself "I wonder what it'll be like to start a family with you"
He raised an eyebrow and repeated "a family?" His eyes shining with surprise
"Yeah..." I murmured my head falling onto my pillow
Carlos watched me quietly then finally murmured "what if we try?"
I turned him genuinely surprised "Like... right now?" I said my voice catching
He simply shrugged and said "Sure" and nothing else
We looked at each other for a while. I could feel the inferno slowly reaching my face.
