"So, where would you like to shop? What's your style?" Owen is persistent on spending money on me even though I feel uncomfortable accepting the gesture.

"Uh, you don't have to do this. I don't need anything." As he pulls to a stop light, I can feel the frustration oozing off of him. The last thing I want to do is piss him off by not accepting his money, but he can't be pissed that someone doesn't want what he's offering.

"This isn't about needing anything, Gia. It's about having fun and letting me buy whatever you want. Now, unless you want me to walk into any old random store and start picking out clothes, then I suggest you give me a place to go, little lady."

Rolling my eyes, I take a deep breath, staring straight ahead, avoiding Owen's eyes. I don't know why I feel annoyed about this. I know Owen has money and has no problem spending it, but I prefer to work for everything I have.

"Gianna, look at me." Owen's tone no longer sounds fun and when I don't answer, Owen grips my jaw, slowly turning my face to look at him.

"If you feel uncomfortable with this, we'll do something else, but getting an attitude about it isn't going to do anything but earn punishments." His eyes are still light, but the authority is there. I know it's not his intention, but the look in his eyes makes me want to mount him at this red light. We've talked about punishments, but this is as close as I've gotten to being in trouble so far. I want to challenge him to see what he does, but I also don't want to ruin the day.

"I'm sorry, but I don't like that you're pushing your money onto me." I finally say after a few moments.

"Wanting to spoil you in a way you've never been isn't me pushing anything onto you. I know this is out of your comfort zone, but that doesn't mean you can pout about it. Now, do you want to go home or do something else?"

I shake my head.

"Then fix your attitude and let's have some fun. Okay?"

I nod and Owen raises his eyebrows.

"Yes, sir." I can't help but smile while saying it.

I almost want to laugh, but I'm reluctant to. I don't want Owen to think I'm laughing at him because I'm genuinely turned on and giddy about what just took place. He finally lets my jaw go when the light turns green, but his touch lingers for a while. Turning my focus back to the road, I sigh, pinching my thighs together. If a warning makes me feel like that, I can't imagine how I will feel being disciplined.

"I like hippie clothes, but I also like a lot of black." I finally mention when Owen reaches another red light a few moments later.

"I can see that and yet you wear plain shorts and a blouse. Why don't you dress in the clothes you like?"

"I don't think about it too much. I throw on whatever and get moving. If I had more time, then maybe I'd plan my outfits to fit my tastes, but once my feet hit the ground, I'm running. Plus, your daughter has big opinions when it comes to my style. I try to avoid her scrutiny as much as possible."

"Well, I guess it's a good thing that you have a whole month to wear whatever you want."

"I guess so."

Owen takes me to this cute earthy boutique that I've never been to. I don't even know how he knows about it, but the moment I'm inside and the soft smell of Sandalwood hits my nose, I get excited. Owen follows closely behind with his hands in his pocket as I look around.

"Get whatever you want." He reminds me as I start eyeing some necklaces. I pick up a few, only to have Owen take them, so my hands are free.

Once I accept that I will have to buy things to satisfy Owen, I go a little crazy in the clothes section, buying skirts, tops, t-shirts, and accessories. I also pick up a few crystals, incense, and trinkets for my bedroom before finally heading to the checkout counter. I stand there as the woman rings everything up, but when it's time to pay the huge $550 total, Owen steps up. Pressing his hand on my hip, he moves me over a step.
