28. Scientist

Yes I'm back!!!

It was the next day, The Group was at school, preparing for their science experiment.

The lab is a flurry of activity. The Group is preparing for the experiment, setting up equipment and running last minute tests. Dr. Novak, the Teacher, is overseeing everything with a keen eye, giving instructions and making sure everything is in order.

The team is comprised of both novices and experienced student, all of them working together towards a common goal. To Pass

"Alright everyone," Dr. Novak calls out, "let's make sure everything is in order. This experiment is important, and you can't afford any mistakes. This is apart of your grade"

Some of the younger ones in the group are a bit nervous, but the older ones are reassuring them. "Don't worry," Sky says, "we've done this a thousand times. Just follow the procedure to the letter and everything will be fine."

As the time for the experiment draws near, the lab becomes even more chaotic. The team is in a mad scramble to finish their preparations. Some are running last-minute tests, while others are checking and re-checking their data.

"Alright, we're good to go," Nuea says, "everyone take your positions."

The team moves to their stations, each one taking up their assigned role. The tension in the room is thick as they wait for the experiment to begin. The clock is ticking down, and everyone is focused on the task at hand.

As the countdown reaches zero, the experiment begins. The equipment comes to life, and the data starts streaming in. The team watches intently as the experiment progresses, monitoring the instruments and making sure everything is running smoothly.

Despite the chaos and the nerves, the experiment goes off without a hitch. The team is relieved and excited, knowing that their hard work has paid off. The machines are all working perfectly, and the data looks good.

Though.. despite the fact it ran flawlessly.. for now at least, Kongkwan notices that one of the machines are sparking before she can say anything..

Dr. Novak congratulates the team on a job well done. "Good work everyone," he says, "we've made some great progress here. This data is going to be incredibly valuable for our research."

Kongkwan tries to speak up "Sir-" she gets cut off

"Good work everyone," Dr. Novak says once again, "take a well-deserved break. We'll review the data tomorrow and start planning the next steps."

One of the machines continues sparking, it gets to the point where one of the sparks hit the lit and turned on Bunsen burner sending not only the Bunsen burner into a more powerful flame it also turns the machine sparking up into flames, setting the fire alarm off.

The team is startled by the sudden blaring of the fire alarm. A sense of shock and confusion quickly spreads throughout the lab.

"What the hell is going on?!" Dr. Novak calls out, looking around the room. Spotting the fire, He quickly orders all students to grab their bags and quickly leave the room.

The team starts to scramble into action, quickly gathering their belongings and making their way towards the exit. Panic starts to set in as they realize the seriousness of the situation.

Nuea says shocked "did one of our machines set on fire? We was the only group that performed our experiment"

Sky replies " you never know I do think it was us though, I noticed Kongkwan trying to speak but she couldn't"

Kongkwan cuts in "that's because I did try to speak but I got cut off by sir"

Som also adds her 2 pence "that's because he's a sassy bitch"

Toh cuts in firmly "hey no profanities idiot!"

"Stay calm and follow the emergency procedures," Dr. Novak calls out, trying to maintain order in the chaos. "Everyone make their way outside and wait for further instructions." 

"Also Som you have a detention"

Som yells "wait what!? Why!"

Dr. Novak says firmly "because you called me a sassy b-word that is not how you refer to your teacher it is utter disrespect"

The team follows Dr. Novak's instructions and starts to file out of the lab. They make their way outside to the designated assembly area, still trying to get their bearings and process what's going on.

The outside scene is chaotic. Fire trucks are arriving on the scene, sirens blaring. Firefighters are rushing around, setting up equipment and trying to assess the situation.

The team waits anxiously in the assembly area, watching the scene unfold. They don't know what's happened or whether the lab has been damaged, but they're all hoping that everyone has made it out safely.

Kongkwan breaks the silence "I did try to say that the machine was sparking, and who decided it was a good idea to put it next to a lit and functioning Bunsen burner that's actually just so stupid"

Som add a another 2 pence "it was Sir he was meant to look after us but he couldn't because he's annoying a bitch and to tunnel visioned" 

Fon adds trying to hide giggles "as much as I don't like that teacher can we not throw shade at him right now" 

Dr. Novak and some of the other senior scientists are talking with the firefighters, trying to get a sense of what's going on. Their faces are grave as they listen to the reports from the fire crews.

The team (mainly Nuea, Sky, Toh and Jao) is still waiting anxiously, trying to overhear the conversation between Dr. Novak and the firefighters. They see the look of concern on Dr. Novak's face and their anxiety increases.

Finally, Dr. Novak approaches the team, his expression serious. "There's been a fire in the lab," he says, "it seems to have started in one of the experimental areas. The firefighters are working on extinguishing the blaze, but we don't know the extent of the damage yet."

Som adds sassily "well no shit, we was their why the fires was blazing, do you think we wouldn't know?"

Ignoring Som Dr. Novak continues, "We're going to have to wait until the firefighters give us an all-clear before we can go back in. In the meantime, I suggest you all go back to your dorms and get some rest."
