"I CAN'T FUCKING DO THIS ANYMORE," She slid her cardigan over her arms. When Choso reached for you, you swatted his hand away. "I tried really hard to make this work, Choso, I really did."
He stood in front of the door with his arms crossed, inky black hair down, eyes narrowed, jaw ticked. "So that's it? You're giving up on us because of..." He waved his arms around in a circle. "... distance? I see you every week."
"It's not just the physical distance, Choso, It's emotional," She continued. Still, with tears pricking at the corners of her eyes, she averted eye contact. "You go ghost for days at a time – these weird little... episodes you have where no one can reach you. You never open up about your feelings. You're a fucking mess. You're a borderline lunatic and I feel like I don't have any freedom around you. I'm tired, I really am."
"Oh, fuck me," He shook his head. His fingers slipped into his hair, trembling as they carded through his black locks and tugged at his roots. "Everything's always a fuckin' problem with you. I don't ghost you, I keep my distance because I know the moment I let you in, you're gonna start some shit with me– just like this!"
"How the hell would you know? You've never let me in," She hissed back. Her arms were crossed, too. When she stood across from him, a good foot shorter, it was hard to take her serious. "I feel like I barely even know the man I love. The only thing I ever seem to get out of you when I ask is anger."
"I can't have any negative emotions around you, huh? What do you want me to do? You knew who I was when you met me." Choso sucked his teeth. Pointing an accusatory finger at her, he added. "If you wanna talk about character flaws, you're not exactly Miss Perfect, yourself. You're a borderline alcoholic who wants to be fixed. You use me as an emotional crutch whenever it's convenient for you and then get mad at me the moment I talk about something that bothers me. Oh, and let's not forget the fact that you always have to be in the right."
