Song of the chapter: O children, Nick Cave & the bad seeds
The past always comes back to haunt us.

He who shall not be named entered the Mikaelson household swiftly, looking everywhere for the magical vampire/witch baby. They searched the house up and down but the baby couldn't be found.
"Its okay baby, mamas here" The mother attempted to soothe the child but they were both finally found when the cloaking spell wore off. The mother was brutally killed but the child survived and was left with a mark. The mark was in the shape of a lightning bolt.
The father came home to find his wife dead and from that day forward he promised that he would get revenge on the people that wronged his family and took everything from him. The child was raised without a mother and the father was left with no one but himself to look after her.

I move schools a lot. Its mostly because of my fathers' trust issues with any other caregiver taking care of me, he believes I am in danger 24/7. Which is absolute bullshit since Voldemort is gone and no one cares about the people that survived him anymore. I am old news unfortunately.
I don't blame him for his overprotectiveness, anyone with that amount of trauma has a right to it. This time I am attending the most amazing wizarding school in Europe, Hogwarts. I've read about Hogwarts nearly my entire life and the nerves are killing me. This is the first time my father hasn't forced me to use a cover name which means everyone will know who I am. I don't know if my father has an ulterior motive but I will be taking advantage of this opportunity.
Finally, we arrived at platform 9 3/4 and the drive felt like forever. My father drops me off outside the platform. He doesn't want to be seen by any wizards or witches because of the whole 'vampire' thing. Especially since most people believe do they not exist.
"Promise to owl me every week" He says and kisses my forehead.
"Goodbye Dad, see you soon" I say and he disappears into the crowd. I run towards the platform and suddenly I am on the other side. Amazing. I think I might like it here.
I head towards the train and find an empty compartment. I take my seat and within 2 minutes of solitude two boys and a brown haired girl slide the door open. They sit down in front of me and stare at me until I speak first.
"You okay?" I ask the ginger one.
"Yes, are you new I haven't seen you around before? I'm Ronald, Ronald Weasley" He smiles, talking awfully quick.
"Stop being so nosey Ronald" The brown haired girls says and hits him on the arm with her newspaper. "Sorry about him"
"I'm Astraea, Astraea Mikaelson. To answer your question yes I'm new" I laugh lifting my newspaper from my lap and opening it. The carriage is in silence for a few moments before I look up and take a closer look at the dark haired boy. He looks uncannily similar to-
It's Harry Potter.

I woke up in a hurry to get changed into my robes for my first official day at Hogwarts as a Slytherin. Breakfast unfortunately doesn't start until eight so I have a good two hours to waste. I've been roomed with Pansy Parkinson and all she does is snore all night so safe to say I had a shitty nights sleep.
"Couldn't sleep?" A blonde haired boy sitting beside the fireplace asks although he didn't really seem to care about my answer as he read his book intently.
"Are you just going to stand there or sit down?" He says lifting his eyes from the book and I realised I had just been staring. I sat down on the sofa across from him, the warmth of the fire felt amazing across my skin.
"I'm Draco, Draco Malfoy and you are?" He introduces himself formally. His second name rings a bell but I'm not sure where I've heard it before.
"Astraea Mikaelson' I bluntly say and his eyes widen a little as he sits up from his position on the sofa.
"Your the one everyone was talking about earlier." He raised an eyebrow of interest. "They say your a vampire" He says seriously then lets out a small laugh indicating to me that he thinks its untrue. Technically I have the vampire gene running through my veins but I haven't turned since I'm still a fully alive magic welding witch and I haven't died yet.
"I wonder why they would be saying that" I wink and his face turns to confusion within seconds. I laugh as I get up from my seat and walk away leaving him with more questions than answers.
I walked through the halls towards my potions class with Professor Snape. Students and teachers all were taking glances at me as I swiftly walked through the crowds of students, desperately looking to be out of their gaze.
"Watch out she might bite you" Crabbe joked as I sat down in the only available seat next to a blonde haired ravenclaw girl. "Hilarious" I reply sarcastically bringing my attention to Professor Snape who had now begun to teach the class. This will be a long day.

My first week of classes flew by rather quickly and luckily for me there was a party tonight. A great chance for me to let loose and forgot about all the stares and comments about me for a while. Mostly they ask who I am and if the rumours about my father were true, others bring up my past and link me to the horrible story of my childhood. I try to ignore it, I really do.
I pull on a black laced mini dress and a pair of black heels to match. I pull my brunette hair into a small messy bun and framed my face with pieces of hair at the front. I have to say, I scrub up well for someone who rarely socializes with others.
Pansy had invited me along tonight, she showed up in a green dress that sparkled whenever the light hit it. It was beautiful.
