I stepped back to admire my handwork. Our living room was transformed. Soft golden lighting highlighted elegant furnishings in creamy whites, rich woods and vibrant turquoise.

I added plush cushions, throw blankets and lush green plants for warmth and texture. The room felt serene.

Above the fireplace, a cherished portrait of Tara and me from childhood beamed. Our bond shines brightly within its intricately carved floral frame.

I adjusted the sunflower vase, surveying every detail. Satisfaction washed over me.

A car horn broke the calm. Tara had arrived.

My smile broadened. Rushing to the entrance, I felt elegant in my flowing floral maxi dress.

As I swung open the door, my heart skipped a beat. Before me stood Tara, her bright smile illuminating the afternoon. We hadn't seen each other in years, yet her sparkling eyes and infectious laughter instantly transported me back to our childhood adventures.

Tara's arms opened wide, and I eagerly stepped into our long-awaited embrace. Warmth and familiarity enveloped me as we squeezed tight, laughter and tears mingling.

Time melted away. Memories of sleepovers, whispered secrets and shared dreams flooded my mind. Our bond remained unbroken.

Tara pulled back, her gaze scanning me. "Lena, you look stunning!" she exclaimed, eyes shining.

I blushed, taking in Tara's effortless elegance - distressed denim shorts, a pastel pink crop top and strappy heels. Her bold makeup accentuated bright lips and defined brows.

"You're breathtaking yourself!" I replied, smiling. We stepped inside, our chatter flowing effortlessly.

Tara's eyes widened as she entered. "Lena, your decor is incredible!" she exclaimed, spinning around the room. "Every detail is perfect - the colors, textures and flowers. Stunning!"

I beamed with pride.

"You should consider decorating as a profession," Tara said, conviction in her voice. "You'd dazzle clients!"

"I've been thinking," I replied, a sly grin spreading.

Our eyes met, and simultaneous laughter filled the room. Joyful echoes resonated through our reunion.

Tara wiped tears. "Serious, Lena. Your talent's undeniable."

I nodded, smiling. "Maybe it's time for a change."

Tara's enthusiasm reignited. "Let's explore this! I'll be your first client."

Our laughter entwined, rekindling the unbreakable bond between us.

Lena grasped the luggage handles, beaming. "Time to settle you in, cousin!"

Tara handed over the remaining bags, her eyes twinkling. Lena lifted, straining comically. "Wow, these are heavy! Hope they're filled with sexy beachwear for our adventures."

Tara burst into laughter, curls bouncing. "Nope, just my entire wardrobe. I've come to stay forever!"

Lena's eyebrows danced upward. "Forever, huh? And where exactly is forever?"

Tara giggled mischievously. "Here, silly! Your place. I'm moving in!"

Their laughter echoed through the stairs as they dragged the bags upward.

At the top, Lena pushed open a beautifully prepared room. Soft lighting, plush bedding and fresh flowers welcomed Tara.

"Make yourself at home, cousin," Lena said, smiling.
