Continues from the scene when Sanskar sang manchala song for Swara in his engagement with Kavitha
----
Life has never been fair for Swara. She felt her heart thudding as her Sanskar sang her favorite song. Her Sanskar. Can she even call him hers? He was literally getting engaged to another woman, but he was right there singing her favorite song.
She was getting transported in a world where only they both existed, this was their moment. No one knows to whom he was singing except her, no one knew how much this meant to her. He didn't meet anyone's eyes, he was simply looking at the floor but often stole glances at her as if asking whether she understood him, asking whether she knew it was for her and she could only helplessly shed tears.
It's okay, this had to be done. This was for the best. Kavitha doesn't deserve the pain of being in coma for five years, fighting to death and then come back alive to lose her love but did she deserve this pain? It was a question no one can answer.
Years and years of keeping everyone before her made her too scared to even think of the possibility of hurting someone. Every time she had to sacrifice her happiness, she had learnt to be happy at someone else's peace but this time it was not possible.
It stung her bitterly, the sight of Sanskar becoming someone else's was sore. She hated it, every bit of it. And him secretly creating a moment for her didn't help at all.
She has never loved someone this much. She has never wanted someone this much.
Her head hurt as her efforts to hold back her tears started to suffocate her. Every part of her wanted to hide herself in his embrace wishing he would take away her pain. She has been wishing for it since so long but the rational part of hers stopped her but suddenly at that exact moment her rational mind stopped working.. and then she ran.
----
Life has never been fair for Sanskar. He doesn't remember the number of days and sleepless nights he spent hoping and praying Kavitha dying in-front of him was just a nightmare, god knows how he took that pain before destiny decided to bless him with something so beautiful that he found a reason to live. Swara. The woman who showed him mirror, brought him to good path, made him a better man, made him fall for her so effortlessly before breaking his heart with her distrust.
But then she came, told him everything he wished to hear but he pushed her away. He couldn't believe he could be lucky enough to get something so magical and he turned out to be right. Would it be different if he believed her love and accepted her? Probably not. Swara would have stepped back, she would rather hurt herself than anyone else.
And he would have silently agreed to her just like he was doing right now. It was extremely difficult for him to gather the courage and hurt Kavitha with the truth. The ultimate truth of his life that he could never love someone like he loves Swara. But it would have been easy to say those words out loud to the world if Swara just stood by him and wanted the same.
This is probably the payback he could give Kavitha for fighting death for five years and yearning for his love, the payback of losing the one thing which means the world to him. His Swara. Can he even call her his after exchanging rings with someone?
He sang her favorite song, the words to her favorite song etched in his mind just like the image of her pure eyes captured in his memory. He could never forget anything about her, the way she would smile, the way she got angry or irritated. How can he set everything right was a question he kept asking himself but couldn't get the answer. He sang the song with his eyes fixed on the floor well aware Kavitha was staring him wondering why he was singing this. He often looked up to Swara hoping she understood his love for her but he was unable to look at her eyes filled with pain.
