20 August, 20 August, 20 August

Reflecting on the day the World Cup slipped through our fingers still hurts. I think it always will. But I can't help but believe that this past year has just been lucky for me. The World Cup, my injury, my relationship crumbling right in front of me. I struggle to find the positives. But what I can say, is I have the best friends who have pushed me through every single part of it.

Tonight I have called a friendship meeting for Beth, Georgia (who is visiting from Germany for a while), and Lucy (who as we know has transferred to Chelsea now). This is a very important meeting that needs to happen. We have been trying to get tickets for a beautiful Canadian woman's tour for weeks now but all of the shows are selling out. But I won't give up; I have to go.

7 pm rolls around and the girls begin to arrive one by one. We have a few drinks and a takeaway and if I'm honest, it's nights like these that helped me to get over Bella. These girls have truly become my lifeline.

L- So has anyone managed to get their hands on some tickets yet?

B- Not yet, London is sold out

G- Me neither, Birmingham has sold out this morning

L- So what you're telling me is Manchester is the last available option?

B- That's what it sounds like Cap

With that, I have an amazing idea to call my agent, Amanda. Well technically, she's also my mum but agent sounds cooler.

L- Hi Mum, I need you to help a girl out.

A- What's the matter darling?

L- Can you call your people and get us some tickets for a concert in Manchester?

A- Oh Leah, this again. Why are you obsessing over this singer?

I may have already asked my mum around 12 times to help me get these tickets. She hasn't agreed yet so I'm going to use persuasion this time.

L- Please, Mum. She's the first girl I have invested time in without even meeting her since Bella left, and I will probably never meet her, so going to a concert and hearing her sing is the best I will get. Please help us; I don't want to miss it this weekend.

A- Fine. Let me make some calls. I hate it when you twist my arm like this.

And she did, she called back half an hour later, saying that she had secured us an unallocated, front-row spot between the public barrier and the stage so that we would not get harassed during the show and could just enjoy it. I have never been more thankful to someone in my life.

We all begin celebrating, I am more than anyone to be honest but a little crush never hurt anyone. Scanning the room, I notice that Lucy isn't as involved as she usually is. We all decided to sit back down and ask her what was going on.

LW- Luce... What's up? You're mood has bungee jumped and you just look sad. Whatever it is, you can tell us.

LB- I didn't want to say anything because you have come so far but I saw something on social media and it's just disappointed me.

B- Well come on, share.

Lucy turns her phone around, revealing a picture of Bella and some American girl with the caption 'The only girl I've ever loved'.

To be completely honest, it stung

To be completely honest, it stung. Did she just never love me? Was none of it real to her? A couple of months ago, this would have broken my heart. But now? I am in a much better place.

LW- Stop looking at me like that- all of you. I'm fine. If she is happy then good for her. I'm glad she is okay, I am also okay. I am better than ever.

*Time Skip to Friday (1 day before the concert)*

Everyone has just arrived at my house and we are finally ready to head up to Manchester. We have a hotel for tonight and tomorrow night so we can just chill and have a good weekend.

G- Everyone ready? Have we all got everything?

'Yes' comes from all around and we head to the car to begin our 3-hour drive.

—————————

The car drive wasn't too bad, the traffic was light and the music entertained us all. I think the excitement took over and we were all just ecstatic to arrive at the hotel.

By the time we checked in, it was 9 pm so we decided to just chill for the evening. I still cannot believe that this time tomorrow, I will be standing amongst a crowd of tens of thousands of people watching none other than Tate Mcrae's concert.
