"Life is very interesting... in the end, some of your greatest pains become your greatest strengths." - Drew Barrymore
******BOOM! CRASH!
The heavy rainfall crashing down against the soft, green grass outside as the house on the cliff slowly settled for the night.
It was perched on a cliff far from any of the powerful kingdoms. The 3 store house had been there centuries before housing many children who did not have a home. The orphans.
Ms. Huil, the councilor, just locked up the house for the night and was about head to her room when a faint knock was heard from the door.
"Why the hell am I the one forced to take care of these brats. Queen Mia could've found another poor women to do the job." Ms. Huil grumbled to herself.
She walked down the warping stairs, each step creaking with her movement.
Before opening the door, she wrapped her wool robe tight around her, preparing for the harsh winds. She swung the door open but didn't see anyone there.
She looked to the side to see if there was any trace of the knocker. No signs.
CRASH! BOOM! CRASH!!!
Ms. Huil closed the door but quickly realized what she heard. A cry. A baby cry.
She flung back open the door and looked down this time. In a torn-up cardboard box, was a newborn wrapped in a pink blanket.
She bent down to read the piece of paper attached to the box.
Dear Orphanage of Hybrids,
This is our daughter, Elva. She was born on April 1st. We do not want to take care of her due to her being a hybrid. She is part vampire, Fae, witch, mermaid and werewolf. By order of the king and queen of the Fae kingdom, she is to stay here permanently due to the type of hybrid she is. She must never find love or be shown any love. Due to her complex nature, she's only going to live for a few years.
-Best of luck
Ms. Huil couldn't believe it. This newborn was only born yesterday and has already been given up. Most parents at least try to be with their child until they are forced to let them up. Yet these parents didn't want her.
And the hybrid. How could she be so complex? The most a hybrid she has known of has been vampire, fae and werewolf.
For the first time in all of her job, she felt sorry for the baby. It will never know its parents and won't last long. She's being forced to stay at this orphanage against her will all for what? Her being a multi-Hybrid?
The newborn, Elva, started to wail, her little arms outstretched. Ms. Huil lifted her ever so gentle and started cooing her back to her sleeping stage.
She kicked the box off the porch and into the rain, closing the door behind her.
She was a special little thing, wasn't she?
