It was one of those usual breaks. Y/n walking on Giselle's room to ask if she needed some snack. However, he was met with a gleam of mischief in her eyes.
"So," she began, locking her gaze on him with a grin that could only mean trouble. "Today's the day you finally embrace your inner Gen Z."
He raised an eyebrow, glancing at the TikTok app she had open. "Is that supposed to mean anything specific, or...?"
"Obviously!" Giselle laughed, pulling him closer. "You're officially getting a crash course in TikTok. I've been meaning to teach you anyway, and the fans are practically begging for more manager content since last time. Time to boost that 'cool factor' of yours."
"My cool factor?" Y/n feigned offense, crossing his arms. "Ya, I'm already the coolest person since-"
"-elementary school? Got it," Giselle said with a smirk. "But I'm here to make you even cooler. I mean, you're already dating Minjeong. You have to live up to those expectations, right?"
"Oh, so you're doing this for her sake?"
"Ehhhhh... also for my entertainment," she shot back, tapping her phone to set up the camera. "Now, let's start with the basics. We're going to do some trending TikTok dances."
"Great," Y/n said, rolling his eyes but smiling. "An ex-trainee now being tutored to become a TikTok influencer."
Giselle shot him a look. "Ya, Y/n, we all have seen you dance, and, well... you've got potential. Let's just say that."
"Gee, thanks."
With the camera positioned and recording, Giselle began demonstrating the dance. She moved fluidly, breaking down each step as she went. "Okay, so you just hit this beat, and then you pop your shoulders like this. After that, we do a little wave... Now, let's try it together!"
Y/n did his best to follow along, but his timing was off, his arms flailed awkwardly, and his attempt at the wave looked more like a mime act gone wrong. He glanced over at Giselle, who was valiantly trying to keep a straight face.
"Y/n, you look like you're doing the robot at a disco. Loosen up a bit!"
"I'm trying!" he protested, laughing despite himself. "I'm not used to this!"
Giselle burst out laughing, clutching her stomach. "Alright, alright, let's move on to something simpler. Here, let's do a lip-sync. All you have to do is mouth the words on time. Easy enough?"
She queued up a short clip of a popular song and handed him her phone, nodding encouragingly. Y/n took a deep breath, squinting at the words as the track played.
"What's the song supposed to be?" he asked, his expression a mix of concentration and confusion.
"It's a classic," Giselle grinned. "Now, go for it!"
Y/n attempted to lip-sync, mumbling words here and there, his expressions overly dramatic. He missed the timing completely, but he nailed a ridiculous eyebrow raise that made Giselle double over in laughter. She was practically on the floor, clutching her sides.
"Oh my gosh, that was so bad," she gasped, wiping tears from her eyes. "But in a good way!"
"Bad in a good way?" he repeated, grinning sheepishly. "That sounds in brand for me."
"Definitely."
Giselle set the phone down and shook her head. "Alright, I'm going to teach you how to do the full 'Supernova' dance. You know, the one that made you famous?"
"Yeah, because that's not a lot of pressure," he replied sarcastically, remembering how he had accidentally gone viral for the dance cover. "What if I mess it up again?"
