I was known as defenceless, the perfect victim for bullies to pick on. I go home covered in black and blue almost daily, looking like a clown. After suffering for tortuous months, they stopped all thanks to "It" who had saved me.

Walking down the school halls as I held my books tightly, a harsh force made me stumble and fall down as my book flew like they were flying books in a fantasy movie. As I turned behind to see who pushed me over, oh how I wished to tear myself apart right there.

'Hey, punch face. Why so dramatic with that fall? That push wasn't that harsh anyway.' He snarled.

'Nothing in that force was light, Xavier.' I glared at him.

'Whatever, I'm not here to use you to play tug of war. I'm here for the money you owe me.' He chuckled.

'What money? Since when have I owed money towards anyone?' I scoffed as I tried picking up my books, but he kicked my hand, making the books fall again.

'Since now.' Shrugged Xavier.

'Your due date is Friday, loser.' He howled before leaving.

Friday was the school's Halloween event if I'm not mistaken. Either way, I doubt I'll remember the money by then. It's only 5 bucks anyway. I sighed as I stood up, picking up my books yet again with my slightly bruised hand, getting up as I walked to class again.

Time skipped quite quickly as it's already Thursday. After devouring my lunch before Xavier could knock it over, I sat in the library while my friend, Hiroshi, sat next to me.

'What are you reading, Vi?' She said, smiling

'A book, Girl In Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow , quite boring,' I murmured

'You think everything is boring,' Sighed Hirosh. 'You have been dealing Xavier, am I right?'

I stared at her, I don't recall telling her a thing about Xavier picking on me. 'Yeah, why did you ask?'

She smiled as she got up from the chair climbing up the bookshelf, grabbing a dusty old brown book. The title was ripped off, so I wasn't able to read the title. 'This will surely help you, Vince.' She said with her usual cryptic smile.

Right when I was about to question her about the content of the book, she vanished in front of me, I never understood how I put up with a girl like her.

She was cryptic, she might be more mysterious than an unread book, she'll hint you with useless hints before vanishing off or either switching the topic. Which would be a huge struggle for me, who never understood what the book was about and how it would help me, I mean, it seems impossible for such.

Soon, it was time to return home, as a went home, I almost tripped over by someone, and of course, it had to be Xavier without an apology. Brushing him off as nothing, I arrived home kicking the door open and door as I plopped onto the bed, bored, since I finished my homework at school.

With nothing to do, remembering the book Hiroshi tossed at me, I rummaged through my bag, taking out the book. I stared at the book and lay down on the bed and started reading it. Word by word, it made me feel slightly eerie. As I read deeper into the lore of the book, the more I felt almost watched.

Feeling paranoid, I brushed it off as overthinking, I immediately shut the book. I looked at the time as it read 9.p.m..I guess I should get some rest as I changed into my pyjamas and went to bed trying to forget the uneasy feeling.

Finally, Friday came, as I walked down the familiar hall of the school while having Hiroshi accompany me with her endless chatting.

'What was the book about? Did you feel anything while reading it? Oh! What are you wearing for today-' She was cut off.

'Zip it, you chatter box.'

'Right..as I was saying, did you feel anything.. weird while reading the book?' She asked innocently.

How did she find out? Certainly, we will never find the answer as it's as clear as day. It's Hiroshi anyway. What answer would you expect? 'Well, I did feel a little-' The bell rang, cutting me off.

She smiled, whispering, 'Tell me more later, I'll explain during the Halloween event.' And she vanished again.

Yet here I was, left unanswered as I sighed, walking back to class. Later, I found myself leaning against the wall near the bathroom. Just as I predicted I have forgotten about the 5 bucks, I owed Xavier, speaking of the devil as I was dragged into the bathroom by the one and only Xavier.

'My money?' He glared

'I-I apologise, but I forgot about it, I swear I'll-' A punch was etched on my face, sending me stumbling backwards.

And the punches became kicks, soon became bruises. 'Since you can't re-pay me with money, you'll just re-pay me with this, I'll make sure you dress up as a bullied kid for this event.' He chuckled.

At this point, I gave up, knowing my strength compared to his. I might as well be beaten to plump until suddenly the punches stopped. Confused, I slowly opened my eyes as they widened almost immediately. The blood spluttered out like a fountain as his head was chopped off. Its long sharp claws are covered with his crimson red blood. Or shall I say Hiroshi's claws.

She looked abnormal, with half of her face's skin torn off with her dilitated pupils and messy hair. Her long slender body was covered with blood with a black horn growing out, her head being an utterly disturbing sight to see.

'Thank you' was all I managed to blurt out as she responded with an inhumane. 'You're welcome.'

Ever since then, I started to realise that the title of the book was Hiroshi the Demon. The novel was about the lore of Hiroshi's demon form.
