Story summary: The Wreckers have made a base on Earth with human allies, they are getting used to the planet but were called on a call to investigate a possible lab of Dr. Henry Arkeville unaware of any threats within.

New Mexico is one of the four states close to the country of Mexico by just a gap, the smallest amount of land connecting them together, and one of the closest to being the whole shape of a square. Few theories speculate how the state received its name. The state was rich in some events in American history such as one point, the test for the nuclear bomb.

In the middle of the desert, far away from any town, a single cabin that looked run down with a chain link fence surrounding the property, just outside the fence, several armored vehicles and soldiers were surrounded by a truck with a trailer with monitoring equipment. The Wreckers were alongside the soldiers, some discussing what they were going to do upon breaching the building, not a single one past the chain link fence. There was a large giant container with the words "Tankor's kennel" spray painted on the side in blue letters.

Two of the Wreckers, Broadside and Alpha Bravo were close to the container, both guarding it so Tankor would have someone watching the former Vehicon super soldier. Both of them looked rather bored, wanting to do anything else and so Alpha Bravo had to make conversation. "Hey," The Aerialbot said to Broadside who turned to them. "Do you ever wonder why we're here?"

"That's one of life's great mysteries, isn't it? Why are we here? Is it because of cowardice like the odds of us being on this world where the War might be at its climax or was it fate, like some higher being is forcing us to make us be here for some purpose that they too don't know, like they had a plan but just can't figure it out completely. I don't know. But it keeps me up when I recharge... Really makes you think..." Broadside replied with Alpha Bravo just looking around, his body language giving off that he was uncomfortable after that statement.

"What the frag!"

"Huh?"

"I mean why are we out here watching this box? Tankor has half a Brain programming in his head, we tell him to stay put he'll stand for hours without moving. I was asking why we are here guarding a box with a light inside that is a single for him to come out and fight. What was all that you said, about higher beings and such?"

"Oh... um... nothing really, just had some stuff on my mind..."

"You want to talk about?" Alpha Bravo asked.

Elsewhere in the area, Agent O'Neal was close to a piece of the fence that fell over, looking at the building with binoculars, he lowered them and picked up a rock off the ground and tossed it past the fence when it landed on the sandy ground, something came out of the ground, a large torrent that opened fire at the thrown rock with a laser that destroyed it.

He walked away, returning to the truck with the mobile base trailer, where he saw Ronnie Anne being propped with body armor. Tactical ballistic vest, armored patterned clothing, knee pads, a helmet with face guard. "This seems a little too much..." Ronnie Anne said as a soldier was trying to attach a riot shield to her arm. "Do I really need this stuff?"

"Yes, you do need all that gear. It is for your own protection." Agent O'Neal explained as he looked over what they knew about the building. "So far, we don't know if Arkeville is alive or not, but since his systems haven't updated, it isn't a good sign. You remember what to do?"
