The shattered moon hung in the sky, and the streets within the Kingdom of Vale were bustling with activity. It was officially the scariest night of the year, and our heroes were busy decorating the lair for the holiday. Well, everyone except Ruby, who was excited for an entirely different reason.
Ruby: "It's October 31st"!
Ruby exclaims at the top of her lungs as she rushes to Leo's side.
Ruby: "Do you know what today is"?!
Leo: "...Halloween-"
Ruby: "IT'S MY BIRTHDAY"!
Weiss: "What"? "Your birthday"?
Yang: "Yup".
Yang said with an annoyed tone.
Raph: "What's the matter, Goldilocks"? "You don't seem all that happy for the kid's birthday".
Yang: "I am happy, Raph". "Today's the day my baby sis gets just a bit older and I couldn't be any happier for her".
Donnie: "I'm sensing a 'but' coming up".
Yang: *sighs* "But it's also the day when Ruby becomes the most annoying person in all of Remnant"!
Ruby: "What"? "What you talkin' about"?
Yang: "Remember last Halloween"? "When you 'convinced' everyone in Signal to give you all of their candy because it was your birthday"?!
Flashback
Yang, along with every student in Signal were dancing the night away in the gym after a full night of trick-or-treating. Now the only thing left to end this party was with an old tradition where everyone counted their candy to see who got the most surgery sweets at the end of the night. The winner gets bragging rights and special privileges from the entire student body.
But just when everyone was about to start counting, everyone's attention was suddenly drawn to the stage as Ruby Rose excitedly ran up to the microphone and announced:
Ruby: "Trick-or-Treat"! "It's my birthday"!
For a few seconds, the gym was completely silent before everyone erupted in collective groans in frustration as they were all forced to give away their hard-earned candy to Ruby, and the birthday girl was more than happy to hold out her small jack-o-lantern candy bucket to catch most of the treats.
Of course, some would point out that they could've just said no to her, but then they were quickly reminded of the consequences of not giving away their candy and making Ruby cry. Which in turn would result in them getting week-long detentions from Ruby's father.
Yang: "Why are you like this"?!
End of Flashback
Mikey: "Oh come on, she can't be that bad".
Yang: "Oh it is that bad, Mikey". "And I am willing to bet that by the end of tonight, little Miss Birthday Girl is going to make all of us give up all of our candy by pulling the 'it's my birthday' card".
Ruby: "What"?! "I would never"!
Yang: "Oh really"? "I'm willing to bet that you can't even go the entire night without using your birthday as an excuse to get others to give up their candy for you".
Ruby: *narrows eyes* "Is that a challenge"?
Yang: "As a matter of fact it is".
Ruby: "Then I accept your challenge, dear sister"! "Ruby Rose will not be defeated"!
