-It was Saturday, 7pm, the day Offroad was meeting Mongkut.
He was nervous, for many reasons;
1. How was he going to tell Mongkrut that he was in a relationship
3. Was it going to be awkward between them? They hadn't seen each other in a long time, conversation would probably be stiltedArriving at the cafe his friend had suggested, he walked over to where the man was seated in a little alcove.
Reaching, he greeted his old dorm mate.
"Road! How are you!" Mongkrut hugged him tightly.
"I'm good" Offroad replied, mostly honest, smiling brightly."I've missed you Road" Mongkut was looking at him intently, seemed to be searching for something in Offroad's eyes. He seemed a little too earnest, and given their history Offroad decided it would be better to subtly deflect the conversation from the dangerous territory it was approaching.
"How have you been, anything exciting happening in your life haha?" He avoided replying to Mongkrut.
"Ehhh nothing much. I had a -"
And they spent a good two hours just catching up. When the cafe was clearly nearing closing time, Mongkut suggested they go get some drinks together. Despite Offroad's instincts telling him it would be a bad idea, knowing how Mongkrut used to get whilst drunk, he agreed. They decided on going to Offroad's apartment as it would offer the most security from public view.
Daou was meant to be coming by tonight. Offroad would need to text him and warn him.
"Roadd~" Mongkut slurred his ear, breath smelling strongly of alcohol. Mongkut's hand came up to grasp Offroad's arm, pulling him into a hug. They stood there in Offroad's kitchen, swaying slightly from Mongkut's unsteady movements as Offroad awkwardly patted the other on the back from his constrained position.
"It's been hard these past two years. I miss how carefree life used to be, I miss the college days, when we'd live in the dorm together, could see each other everyday. I miss what we used to have..." and Mongkut leaning closer.
Alarmed Offroad slapped a hand over the other man's mouth, stopping him, and detached from the embrace.
"Mongkut, theres something have been meaning to tell you"
"What?" Mongkut slurs, eyes half lidded from drunkness and still with his arms where Offroad had previously been.
"I'm actually in a relationship. A proper, dedicated relationship."
Mongkut's face dropped, even through the faze of alcohol, becoming unreadable.
"Oh."
Offroad grimaced awkwardly, twisting his hands.
"Who is she? Is she an actress? I bet-"
"It's not a she" Offroad interrupted him before they could go down that route.
"It's actually Daou Pitt-"
Like he'd been called, Offroad heard his door opening and Daou's voice calling out
"Offroad? Where are you babe?"
"-aya" he finished lamely, identity given away as the man in question came into the kitchen, saw the situation and froze, eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
"Pfft"Mongkut scoffed. This was what Offroad had been afraid of. Mongkrut had always gotten slightly provocative when he was drunk. And knowing Daou's personality when it came to Offroad a face off between the two would not end well.
"Can I help you?" Daou's voice was forcefully polite.
"Not unless you're willing to share your boyfriend"
