CHAPTER #4: STWEET DREAM

"Sweet dreams..."

Paenth still remembers how excited she was about getting the chance to live abroad. Family didn't support, but they couldn't go against the promise they had made to her. She reminded them of that promise, persuaded them, and became the top student every semester just to earn what her family once promised.

"A reward—ask for anything, and they'll give it". They never thought she would ask to study abroad. Though they reluctantly allowed it, she had to find the money to cover the expenses on her own. Despite that, she was still happy to go and experience life, without having to wait for anyone's approval or for them to acknowledge her.

It was difficult for her to adapt to a society she wasn't familiar with, but the challenges gradually faded when her seniors from her old school in Thailand provided guidance. There was also a group of Thai students who helped her, and one of those seniors was the woman who taught her about love. Paenth still remembers that first smile between them and has never forgotten it. She also vividly recalls just how shy she felt back then.

At the beginning of their relationship, she lacked confidence. How could she be sure that the popular senior among the Thai students actually liked her? She was just so ordinary, with nothing interesting about her at all. Unlike that popular senior, who had a captivating appearance right from the start. It would be a bit of a lie to say that looks didn't matter when they started dating. She liked her from the moment she saw her walk into someone's social gathering.

"Should we become closer than just senior and junior...?"

How could she refuse? She nodded in agreement almost immediately when the person she both liked and admired said this. She had never had a girlfriend before, never even thought that she could like women. She used to have female classmates who tried to court her, but she had never felt this kind of excitement and heart-racing feeling before."

"Shall we learn how to love together...?"

It was already wonderful that their feelings gradually developed together. They didn't rush to reach the end quickly, but instead, they took time to enjoy the beauty along the way. Her journey was truly beautiful; not once did she think she had made a wrong decision—not even when it came to...

Their first kiss...

Her lips were so soft, so soft that it felt like she was tasting delicious jelly. Once it was gone, she kept wanting to taste more, just like those lips that, once she touched them, she kept wanting to touch again. She admits it, she admits that she was greedy for those kisses she had just learned. With a girlfriend so beautiful and charming, of course, she wanted to kiss her again and again—it was only natural."

First love...

And even now, she still loves that one woman—the woman who made her truly feel what love is, a love filled with genuine care for one another.

Still remembers every feeling clearly, still remembers how the senior would wait outside the restaurant with a smile on her face, waiting for her to finish work.

"You're tired today, aren't you?"

It was just an ordinary question, but to her, it was very special because the person asking didn't just ask. They opened their arms, waiting for her to come in and snuggle into the warmth.

The warmth she longed for.

But it was she who let that warmth slip away.

No matter how happy a dream might be, so much that you don't want to wake up, in the end, she still had to wake up and face the reality that she needed to earn a living. 'Don't despise small money; it keeps you from poverty'—she has held onto this saying ever since she decided to pursue what she thought would bring her happiness. It might be incredibly exhausting to struggle and earn money on her own, but it comes in exchange for a happiness greater than before.
