It was the last week of summer before high school began. Four friends—Alex, Jenny, Tom, and Lisa—were determined to make it memorable. They'd heard rumors about the Old wood Forest, a place filled with dark tales of people disappearing, strange lights at night, and an eerie sense of being watched. No one dared to enter it, but that night, curiosity got the better of them.
"Come on, it's just a bunch of stories!" Alex said, pulling out a worn, yellowed map he'd found in his grandfather's attic. "We'll spend the night camping there, and prove that there's nothing to be scared of."
"Sounds like a dumb idea," Jenny muttered, always the cautious one. But as the sun set and peer pressure took its toll, she reluctantly agreed.
Tom and Lisa were more enthusiastic. "Let's do it!" Tom said with a grin. "This will be legendary."
They packed their tents, flashlights, and snacks, and by twilight, they stood at the forest's entrance. The trees loomed overhead, blocking out the last rays of the setting sun. A cold breeze made the air thick with the scent of damp earth and pine.
"Let's go," Alex said confidently, leading the way in. But as they crossed the threshold, an unsettling feeling crept over them, as though the forest itself had been waiting for them.
