Chapter:2

'When are you coming back home?Where are you and what the hell are you doing there?' The voice of her sister yells from her phone when Mia Pancy is sitting inside a taxi on her way back to her apartment which is located in the corner of a city.

She left her home three months ago from now, by leaving a note stating that she would be away for a while for completing a mission and she wouldn't come back home untill she completes the mission.Her whole family couldn't believe it at first and took it as a prank but now they have to believe it since it's been months she hasn't gone back home even though they are all confused of what did she mean by 'completing a mission' which was stated in that note.

She gets off the taxi,pays the fare and heads towards the building of her apparment.It's an old building with three floors.There are eight rooms on the third floor and she lives at the eighth room of that floor.She takes the lift as usual with two other women.

Then the two women starts talking:

'Do you know that guy from room no.8?
-No.I haven't even seen him once.
Umm,that's obvious as he usually don't talk to anyone living here and hardly gets out from his room.I only get to see him when he leaves for work in the morning.

-So,why do you ask about him?
You know what he looks so handsome and he's tall too with a good body posture.I have a crush on him.But it's hard to approach him as he appears so cold and aloof.

-Can you stop your habit of falling for handsome guys, oh my dear friend?
I don't fall for his handsomeness only.He's a lawyer too.Isn't that cool?

-Ok ok,let's go,the lift has stopped.Save your talk for later,let's get off first.'

They all get off together on the third floor.Then the two women enter into room no.6 and she walks to her room(no.4) which is opposite to room no.8.It's been only one month she has been staying here after moving out from her old apartment.As she's a new to this rented house so she's not familliar with the residents here.

She's working as a manager at a marketing company and usually returns back to her apartment at around 7p.m. at night.She works as a part timer at a midnight club which runs between 12:30 a.m. to 2a.m. to collect intel about people as a part of her mission.

Three months ago she happened to find out a secret organisation which works for the betterment of people who are victims of crimes who cannot afford to fight against those criminals.They kidnap the criminals and let them confess their crime.If the criminals refuse to do it,they find a way to get rid of those people secretly.Currently she's working as a member of that organisation.And her work at the club is a part of a mission from that organisation.

She freshens up after having dinner and go to bed to sleep for a while.Not long after lying on her bed she falls asleep as she's tired from long hours of working.Alarm beeps from her phone at 10p.m.When she wakes up, she sees a text on her phone.It's about a secret meeting with a person at 1a.m. at the clubhouse where she's working to talk about a recent domestic violence report from a wife of a well-known businessman.

He's someone they have been targetting for a while as he's a notorious criminal who commits a lot of crime.The victims of his crimes are not able to file a report against him as the chances of winning the case against him is very narrow because of his power and his connections with a lot of officials.But, rarely this time his ex-wife has reported a file of domestic violence against him.

Mia has volunteered to take part in this mission as she wants to avenge him for a past issue with him.This will be the last mission for her in this organisation.Once it's over she'll be resigning from the very organisation as it drains her a lot working for both the company and the organisation.

She turns on her laptop and starts working on a project of the company which she's been assigned to take care of. She works on it for two hours to complete half of it.Then she gets up and dresses up to go to the club.She goes to the washroom to wash her face.After drying up her wet face,she starts putting up the makeup using the bathroom mirror.When she starts putting the lipstick on,she hears a familiar voice saying,'Can't you see ?'

She startlingly drops the lipstick from her hand out of fright.When she looks around to find out who's speaking,there's no one around.She swallows a gulp down her throat closing her eyes and makes a big sigh...

Then she opens her eyes and picks up the lipstick which gets a crack because of the sudden falling.She leans on the bathroom wall and looks at the necklace on her neck and starts talking,
'I even start hearing your voice out of nowhere.Are you doing well?Wait a liitle bit, I'll avenge for you for sure.And I'm sorry for taking so long...'

A teardrop falls down from her eye which she wipes away and get out of the bathroom.When she checks on her phone,It's already 12:10 a.m.As it takes at least thirty minutes to reach the club from here by taxi,she's running late.

She exclaims 'Oh,I'm running late,I gotta hurry!' And runs out of her room hanging a sidebag closing the door hurriedly.

She suddenly bumps to a man and falls down.He's also running out from the room opposite to hers holding a phone.As they crash each other the phone falls down on and hits the floor of the corridor.The man is none but Lucas Fern.He's running out of his room for a better network signal as it's lost while he was about to talk back to the caller.

He looks at her and helps her up saying,
'Ah sorry, Are you ok?'
She replies,'It's ok.I'm fine and I'm sorry too.'
When he picks up his phone and she asks if it's working.It turns out that the phone is broken and not working.Then she says,'Oh no!What do I do?I'm in hurry so I have to go. Here, keep my business card and give me the phone I'll repair it.If it can't be repaired I'll buy a new one.'

Lucas makes a big sigh and replies,'No thanks.Just go as you say you're in hurry.I'll repair it myself'.He returns to the room hopelessly as he loses the chance to talk with the caller.After closing the door he looks at the phone and makes an expression of frustration saying,'Why the hell is it happening at this time?Argh!It's so annoying...

Mia loses her words at his aloofness.As he returns back to his room,she puts her business card inside her bag saying,
'Woah! Is he serious?Why would he be that reserved?It feels like I'm the only one guilty here.He also bumps at me making me fall.Does he think that I'm lying?Such a wierd person!'

As she walks down talking to herself,
she's already reached the roadside without much knowledge.She catches a taxi and heads towards the clubhouse.It's 12:57 when she reaches the clubhouse and meets the person.The man takes out a photo and keeping it on the table saying,'Make a thorough research on this person and give me the report from time to time.He's the lawyer of the victim.Maybe he has also connection with that moron as he agrees to take the case so easily.Maybe they're trying to twist the trial by joining hands secretly.'

When Mia sees the man in the photo she widens her eyes and exclaims,'Is that him?'The other person asks if she knows him.She replies,'No,I don't know him, just...seems like I've seen him somewhere.Ok let's forget about it.We just need to focus on the research task.'

After the meeting, she comes back at her apparment and looks at the door of Lucas and her mind talks,'Tsk!I have felt it before from your behaviour that you're wierd.Let me dig out your dirty deeds behind the veil of that handsome face.' She smirks a little and opens the door of her room.

It's already 3 a.m. when she goes to bed.
She tries to sleep but whenever she closes her eyes,the crashing scene from earlier starts to display and the words he has spoken to her starts echoing through her ears.She closes her ear with the pillow to make the echoes disappear but her effort is a waste as it doesn't fade.She has trouble sleeping so she decides not to sleep and spends her time working on the remaining half of the project.
