Mara felt a sharp stab in her torso and gasps for air. "Mama!", she called out into the dark. Her heart twisted and teared, the hollow ache growing larger.
"No no, don't take Mama" she pleaded and struggled to her feet.
Her desperation was met with silence. She was alone, like always. She had not seen or felt her mothers touch in centuries, but still felt her slipping away now. Darkness threatened to sever the bond between them, Mara had worked so hard to keep alive.

"I wont let her take you" Mara says and focused on the last string that attached her to her mother. She let the power of it flow through her body and take her. It filled her with its warmth and brought her to the destination she desired most.

Once she opened her eyes again, she found herself in a suburban neighbourhood, people stood out in the street, looking curiously and simultaneously frightened at her. She did not care about them one bit.
A car drove off, a bit further away, that peaked a fraction of her interest. Her power seemed to linger around it, but her thoughts were circling only around one thing.
The pull that was suppose to lead her to her mother. She followed the lead into a house that beamed with familiarity. Her feet guided her right through it, stepping out into the backyard, leading her to an overgrown patch, right in the middle.
Mara looked down at the flowers and the little mushrooms that peaked out between them. She sank to her knees, tears streaming down her cheeks. They feel on the petals and hats of the mushrooms, burning holes into them where they touched them. Her Mama had been taken from her once again.

But this time Mara would not accept her fate and she knew who she had to face first. Her mother, death herself.
