It had been centuries since Rio had last seen Agatha. She remembered the night clearly, so clearly it kept haunting her.

Nicky slept next to Agatha. Rio had spent hours just watching the two of them. Observing the calm raise of their chests. She stroked over Agathas hair, like she had done for years. She knew she would never be able to again. Agatha would not forgive her for what she was about to do. Even if she had no other choice

She knew how desperatly Agatha tried to keep her away from her son. She had given her as much time as she could give. She had let her think that giving her more bodies would buy more, but they did not change anything. Rio had come to visit them often at night. She would watch them and secretly mourn what could never be again.
Until the night that she could not wait any longer. She softly called Nickys name, waking him from his slumber. He walked towards her, but she stopped him. Agatha should get a goodbye, even if she will never know she got one. The boy kissed his mothers cheek, before taking Rios hand and letting her guide him. The next morning Rio felt Agathas screams and sobbs in her heart, threatning to strangle it.

For decades after Rio had left her love alone. She would watch from a distance but never approach. That was until one day, she had lingered too long and she was discovered.
Agatha did not say a word. But her purple pulsed in her hands. Anger still very clearly in her eyes.
"My love..." Rio tried to calm her but her words did the opposite. They freed every ounce of hate that Agatha carried, shotting out of her.
"Don't you dare!" She shouts at Rio before blasting her with all she had.
It took no real effort from Rio to move out of the way.
"Give me back my son!" Agatha shouts and sends a blast Rios way once again, but only hit the dark shadow of where Rio used to stand.
"I can't. You know that", Rio pleads with her as she appears behind her.
Agatha spins around, her eyes wild, ready to pounce on Rio.
"Liar! You took him! You can bring him back", Agatha hissed.
"No" Rio said firmly.
Rio was hurting everywhere she possibly could. Agathas hate festering in her where there was suppose to be love. Agathas pain threatned to crumble her too, just like it had Agatha herself. The desperation and pain in her Loves eyes. It drove her so mad that she decided to break the rules that were suppose to bind her once again.

"But I can give you another one" Rio heard herself say.
Those few words were enough to let Agatha fall into herself, the pure hate vanishing, if just for a few moments. A high pitched laugh forced itself up her throat to cover the fleeting moment.
"That is your pathetic offer?!" She screetches.
"Yes, I cannot bring Nicky back, but I can give you another try", Rio says, her voice soft.
"Don't you say his name", Agatha presses out. She forms her hands to fists, trying to stop them from shaking.
"My love, please. Let me sooth your pain", Rio says and takes a few cautious steps towards her.
Agathas whole body is vibrating. So many thoughts are rushing in her mind. She only wants Nicky. He is her all, another child will not give her what Nicky was. But how alone she had been all this time. Grief eating her alive.
Rio was now so close that she could see the tears streaming down Agathas cheek. Her inner turmoil was clearly written on her face.
"Please, my love" Rio repeted. She was now so close that she could take Agathas face into her hands. She gently stroked away the tears, looking into Agathas cloudy eyes. Anger and hate had vanished, letting grief and desperation take over.
The two women looked at each other. Neither of them were able to mutter another word. They both felt everything the other tried to communicate. There were no words needed.
Rios lips found their way to Agathas. Both were hesitant. They had been strangers to such a soft touch in so long. Never even noticing how much they hungered for it.
The women clinged to each other, deepening the kiss. Still trying to say everything there was to say through it.
Rio gave all the love she had into it. With it she gave every ounce of good she had in her. This child should live. It should get all the light that was in Rio. She gave it willingly, but the prise to pay was high. Everything that she gave, would be taken from her.

Rio was the one to pull back from their embrace. She put her forehead on Agathas and took her time to look at her for a few more moments.
"She will live. I promise you" she whisperd before she disapeared into her shadow, leaving Agatha alone once again.
