The first light of dawn crept through the curtains, casting a gentle glow over May's room. Lucien stirred awake, glancing down at May still nestled against him, breathing softly. Carefully, he eased himself out of bed, reluctant to break the calmness of the moment but knowing he needed to take care of a few things. She deserved a proper breakfast and, quite frankly, he could use a change of clothes himself.

He left her a note on the bedside table, letting her know he'd be back soon, then quietly exited the apartment. The morning air was brisk as he made his way to his car, mentally running through what he'd need to pick up. He'd make sure she had everything to start her day comfortably.

Arriving at his penthouse, Lucien quickly showered and changed into fresh clothes. As he dressed, he called his assistant to arrange a small delivery of her favorite things—fresh pastries, her favorite fruit, and a selection of teas, remembering from their conversations how much she enjoyed them. He wanted her to feel indulged, even in the smallest of ways.

Once he'd picked up a few essentials for her, he packed an overnight bag with a change of clothes and some small comforts she might appreciate. He added a plush blanket, remembering how chilly she'd felt the night before. By the time he arrived back at May's apartment, the sun was higher, casting a warm light over everything.

Entering her apartment quietly, he noticed she was still asleep. Smiling to himself, he began setting out breakfast on the small kitchen counter, filling the room with the warm scents of fresh bread and brewed coffee. He couldn't wait to see her expression when she woke up and saw the little breakfast setup.

Hearing a faint rustle from the bedroom, he turned just as she stepped into the doorway, rubbing her eyes.

"Good morning, angel," he said, his voice soft. "I thought you might like a proper breakfast."

Her face lit up as she saw the spread. "Lucien... this is amazing. You didn't have to do all this."

"I wanted to." He smiled, walking over to her. "Now, sit down and let me take care of you. We'll make this the perfect start to a new day."
