Alex sat in the quiet of her room, the silence pressing down like a heavy blanket. The conversation with Scott lingered, his words offering a flicker of comfort, but the unease within her remained.

Her gaze drifted to the mirror across the room. She felt compelled to stand, moving as if in a trance, until her reflection stared back at her. In the dim light, she saw the shadows under her eyes, the tension etched into her brow. She looked... different. Not physically, but in the way she held herself—a subtle hardness, an edge that wasn't there before. It was like staring at a stranger.

Her fingers brushed the cool glass, and she whispered, "Who are you supposed to be?"

The words fell heavy in the silence, a question meant as much for herself as for the person she'd become. A tightness gripped her chest as she thought of the people in her old life, those who had known her as just Alex Parker, an ordinary girl. Would they even recognize this version of her? Would they be proud... or disappointed?

Her voice cracked as she asked herself, "Can I really do this?"

The question hung in the air, unanswered, and Alex felt her resolve begin to crack. The weight of her new reality pressed down, heavier than before, making her wonder if she'd already lost herself in trying to live up to expectations she didn't fully understand.

That night, she drifted into a restless sleep, her mind unable to let go of the fears she couldn't voice. In her dreams, she found herself wandering through a dense fog, trees towering on either side of her. The path ahead twisted and turned, leading her somewhere unknown. Wolves' eyes glowed in the shadows, watching her, guiding her deeper into the mist. She felt their presence like a silent call, urging her forward.

One wolf—larger than the others—stepped into her path, meeting her gaze with an intensity that made her breath catch. It was as if the creature saw everything in her: her fear, her doubt, and the flicker of courage that hadn't yet faded. The wolf gave a low, steady growl, both a warning and a reassurance, as if to say, You are not alone. Face the path.

When she awoke, her heart was pounding, but the lingering dread felt softened, replaced by something else. She didn't have all the answers, but there was a sense of direction, a hint of purpose. Maybe she didn't recognize herself yet, but maybe... that was the point. The path would unfold as she walked it.
