Chapter 4: Mastery of the Unknown

It'd been 8 years since they found him on the Solomon on the road. From the outside they were seemingly a normal family. Young brilliant professor married to a prominent business owner with two kids, Solomon and Maya. No one would ever suspect that they were hiding a secret. Solomon wasn't from this world. Since he was about 6 they'd developed a regular routine. They had to acknowledge that hiding his abilities wasn't best for anyone. Instead they figured out a way to teach him to control his abilities. Every morning Dani would work with him doing normal school lessons like math, literature, and, science. After school Zeke would take him drive him far away from any houses or buildings or where anyone lived. A safe space to explore what he was capable of. As time went on he discovered more and more powers. Beyond the speed he was also strong. He could lift upwards of 2 ton with ease at only 6 years old. He could control the wind around. But the most amazing part was his the fire. He could control his body temperature and produce flames and emit a light from his skin that rivaled the suns brightness yet could be completely normal to the touch. Control of his powers brought questions. After a certain point Solomon began questioning why he couldn't go to school. He'd see kids from the neighborhood all walk by heading to the corner to the big yellow bus and that was what he wanted most. At 11 he was already smarter than the average high school graduate. So much so that he was capable of teaching his younger sister Maya her lessons. It got to the point where every conversation would lead to him asking to go to public school until finally Dani and Zeke caved and enrolled Solomon in 6th grade at the local junior high and Maya at the adjoining elementary school. They felt it was time. Especially if Solomon and Maya were both ready. When hearing the news he was so excited he started to glow and hover off the ground with joy. By this time stories of "super humans" had been sprinkled throughout the news for a while now. Stories like; an 8ft tall person with 6 arms robbing a bank, or people being saved from a burning building by a flying woman. The world seemed to have mixed feelings about people with abilities but even still, Dani and Zeke were sure they had to keep Solomons abilities a secret. After all, he was still just a child.
