It had been a few weeks since everything had happened. Emery was wearing a cast on her right arm and she had introduced Ben to Elliot, who had explained everything that he and Emery had gone through. Elliot was having a hard time believing it, which was understandable, but he could tell they were telling the truth: they were too scared to be lying.
Emery and Eddie had been calling whenever they could since no one was allowed round his house anymore, Emery saw Richie once or twice at the arcade, and she went to Stan's Bar Mitzvah. She'd seen Beverly a couple of times, and she'd hung out with Mike a few times, but Bill was the only person she couldn't bring herself to go and see.
Until today.
She had walked to his house, trying to psych herself up and before she knew it, she was at his front door. She hesitated before knocking and she didn't have to wait long before the door opened, revealing Bill. "Hey Billy" Emery smiled and Bill didn't hesitate to wrap her in a hug that she immediately returned, closing her eyes.
"I missed you" he mumbled and she smiled. "I missed you too" she whispered before pulling away. "Wanna go for a walk?" she asked and he nodded. The two walked side by side, just talking about what they had been doing the past few weeks and they eventually reached the river, sitting by the side of it.
"Emmy, I-I want to say something" Bill started, sitting in front of her. "So do I" Emery nodded, smiling slightly. "Y-you first" Bill smiled and Emery chuckled. "Here goes nothing" she muttered under her breath before looking at him.
"William Denbrough...I like you" Emery admitted and Bill's eyes lit up. "That's g-good" he smiled. "Why?" Emery chuckled. "Because I want to do this" Bill placed his hand on the side of her face and leant in, pressing his lips to hers gently.
Emery froze for a moment before kissing him back, her hand cupping his jaw. Butterflies erupted in Emery's stomach as her cheeks burned, her eyes closing as Bill placed his other hand on the other side of her face, his fingers brushed her hair.
They finally pulled apart breathless and smiled at each other. "I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you like me too?" Emery smirked and Bill chuckled before nodding. "Thank god" Emery mumbled before leaning forwards and kissing him once more.
He smiled into the kiss, leaning forwards and gently laying her down on the grass, his hands on either side of her head as he kissed her softly. "This is amazing" Emery whispered, a permanent smile on her face as Bill laid down beside her, interlocking their fingers as they gazed up at the clouds.
They stayed like that for a while, just listening to the water lap against the riverbank as they watched the clouds drift across the sky, Emery's head resting on Bill's chest as he played with her hair. "A girl on my street went missing three days ago" Emery mumbled and Bill sighed.
"We have to get the others. We have to stop this thing or It's gonna kill every kid in town" Emery explained. "I've t-tried. Bev's the only one who's w-w-willing to help" Bill said. "We have to do something" Emery said and Bill nodded.
"Tomorrow. W-we'll do something tomorrow. I want to spend t-today with you" Bill said and Emery craned her neck to look at him. "I'm happy with that" she smiled, pressing a kiss to his cheek before looking back up at the clouds.
After a while, they left the riverbank and walked into town, heading towards the park to get ice cream. Emery got Rocky Road and Bill got Mint Chocolate Chip, the two sitting on the grass and leaning against a tree as they ate.
"No one's s-s-signed your cast yet" Bill noticed and Emery smiled. "Just one person" she turned her arm over and showed Bill the little butterflies Elliot had drawn. "Elliot drew them as soon as I got home" Emery smiled. "Wait here" Bill handed her his ice cream before getting up and running off to the ice cream shop.
She chuckled at him and had a few licks of his ice cream while she waited for him to come back. When he did, he had a marker pen in hand and he knelt down in front of her, gesturing to her cast. "What are you doing?" she laughed softly, holding her cast out for him.
He just smiled at her and started drawing little stars all over her cast before writing something on the inside of her wrist. She pulled it closer and looked at the words: 'When I see the stars, I think of your smile. I think of the way you light up the dark times. When I feel lost, I look to you for guidance. You're my star'.
Her eyes started watering as she looked up at him and he pressed a kiss to her cheek. "W-wait" he said, pulling her arm closer to him again as he added a heart at the beginning and end of the sentence. "I love it" Emery grinned, wiping at a tear.
"Have I ever told you that you're amazing?" Emery asked. "Not as amazing as y-you" Bill replied, sitting down next to her again. She rested her head on his shoulder as she handed him back his ice cream, the two continuing to eat their ice creams as they watched the people of Derry walk through the park.

It was the next day and Bill and Emery had agreed to meet up with Beverly to talk about what they wanted to do. Bill and Emery were currently just hanging out in his room waiting for Beverly to show up but she was already thirty minutes late.
"Maybe we should go round hers?" Emery suggested and Bill nodded, the two getting on their bikes and riding to Beverly's.
They saw the front door was open and they quickly walked inside, seeing a broken ironing board in the main room. They made their way towards Beverly's room and saw someone laying in the bathroom, prompting them to rush towards them, seeing Beverly's father unconscious on the floor with no sign of Beverly.
They went into Beverly's room and saw the words 'YOU DIE IF YOU TRY' written in blood on the ceiling. Emery gasped and covered her mouth as her and Bill ran out of the house, riding their bikes to the arcade to get Richie before getting the others.
They were going to save Beverly.
