A ship was seen floating in space, it drifted for a long time, until its cargo bay was jettisoned. Soon after, explosions rocked the hull and the entire ship was consumed in flames, one more explosion completely obliterating it. The cargo bay entered Earth's atmosphere, although its metal burnt upon entry, it was not destroyed, merely melting the creatures inside. The sky lit up as debris rained over the forest. It crashed into the ocean and its doors slid open. As it sank, the creatures' liquefied remains slid out and infected the water around them, soon turning an eerie purple, oozing and boiling the water it touched. Any who came into contact with this tainted water became infected and soon entered a slow, painful and agonizing transformation, turning them into these terrifying creatures themselves, dubbed Nightstalkers by the scientist who created them. With harsh screams filling the air, it seemed the nightmare was far from over, in some ways, it was only just beginning.

The city skyline was aglow with streaks of fire, no one realized the horror that awaited them, those that did see the burning cargo bay merely mistook it for a shooting star, eyeing it with curiosity more than anything. It wasn't long before the infected water made its way through the city's pipelines, it soon affected everything, the drinking water, the plumbing, outdoor pools and water parks, everything. As soon as the humans came into contact with this thick purple water, the infection spread rapidly and they convulsed, their skin bubbling, going red. The transformation that took place before on the ship was now much faster. Their skin becoming purple, scaly and rock hard as they screamed in agony, spiked forcefully jutting out of their skin. Chaos ensued as the infection spread, mutating civilians into terrifying Nightstalkers. The city was almost instantly plunged into mayhem, causing panic among the population, with the infected rapidly multiplying and becoming more and more dangerous.
As the infection spread, authorities were called in to contain the situation, but no one knew what they were up against. It was far too late, the Nightstalkers roamed the streets, impervious to bullets or high speed cars, tearing through anyone who went after them, they wreaked havoc on the city, leaving behind only debris and destruction in their wake, things got so bad that the government had to declare martial law, quarantining it. Hospitals became overwhelmed, animals were mutating in the sewers, further complicating the situation.
"The situation in the city is out of control! These aren't riots, these are monsters. Everyone, stay inside! Avoid contact with anyone showing signs of change!" News anchors attempted to remain calm, but terror gripped the situation.
Highly ranking officials held an emergency meeting in a dimly lit bunker. Scientists and military leaders argued about their next course of action.
General Carter, a stern, battle hardened leader, insisted on a more aggressive approach. "We have no choice. We either bomb this city now, or we're looking at a global catastrophe!"
"We need more time!" A scientist named Dr. Rayne said. "If we can just study the infection..."
"Study it? We don't have time for science projects! This is a city-wide pandemic, and if we don't do something now, it's going to go global!"
"There may only be one choice." A xeno-biologist, Dr. Rebecca Lang approached. "We need to pinpoint the origin of this."
"It's far too dangerous to go there alone, I'm heading out there with you." Marcus, a seasoned firefighter interjected. General Carter gathered a few soldiers, and with this platoon, the two set off to uncover the truth.
As they pressed on, they discovered the remains of the cargo bay, its surface burnt, but the inside still intact. Dr. Lang put on protective gear, took out a syringe and extracted the substance that now consumed the ocean.
