Hailey's POV
"Hailey please, just one more time!", they called after me, their voices echoing down the crowded entrance. With a final wave and a quick smile, I turned away, slipping through the doors of the Met Gala at last.
Navigating through the glamorous chaos, I headed straight to the Cocktail Bar, walking past big names like Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Anna Wintour. My best friend, Kendall hadn't arrived yet, she was still outside, posing for photos and I was waiting for her. Clutching onto my Cuba Libre and fighting off a slight wave of nervousness. Replace the fancy cocktail bar with a cafeteria, and I'd get a sense of deja vu to my high school life.

I took a long sip of my drink, letting the flavors distract me as I scanned the room. There actually were a good amount of people I knew but either they were up in deep conversations or I didn't like them.

Finally, I saw someone I actually liked, waving at me. Shay Mitchell, who was on my Youtube channel two weeks ago. I was about to make my way over to say hello when I heard a voice next to me, coming closer.
"Are you trying to find people for your channel?"
I turned to my right and my eyes immediately widened as I found myself staring straight into the face of Joe Jonas, who was smiling at me with a slightly amused look.
"I- Pardon, what?" I stammered, thrown off guard, mind scrambling to process what was happening. "Do you know who I am?" I asked, feeling an odd mix of disbelief and curiosity, pointing to myself with my index finger, as if he was talking to anyone else right now.

He nodded, his grin widening as he met my gaze and raised his eyebrows in amusement.
"Are you kidding? Of course I do, I've seen some of your episodes."
My mouth slightly dropped and I felt a wide, unrestrained grin spread across my face.
My teenage girl inside me was in full meltdown mode. Once upon a time, I had been a devoted Jonas Brothers fan, Joe Jonas basically being my teenage crush. Now here he was, right in front of me, knowing who I was.

"I have actually been trying to get you and your brothers for one of my bathroom or kitchen date's for a while."
Joe laughed, his eyes brightening, which made me smile back without even thinking about it.

About a year ago, I launched my new Youtube channel to transition away from modeling and try something new. Each episode, I'd bring in guests from all over the industry — hanging out, cooking, playing games, cracking jokes, eating and talking about everything from work to live stories.
"I don't think we have gotten that message!", he replied, his grin widening.
"Well," I replied confidently. "consider yourself asked — right here, right now."
I looked straight into his eyes, as if his answer would be plastered somewhere in them.
He nodded, playfully wrinkling his nose.
"Sure," He said with a charming smile. "Give me your number, I'll let our team contact yours and see whenever we can make it happen!" He handed me his phone and I quickly typed in my phone number.

"What about tomorrow?" I joked, glancing up at him with a raised eyebrow.
Joe laughed, then eyed my drink with a mock.
"How many of those have you had?"
He furrowed his eyebrows and I gave him his phone back.
"Just this one so far!" I held up my glass with a proud smile.
He chuckled again and gave me out a quick hug.
"It was nice meeting you Hailey!", rubbing his chin.
"Pleasure is all mine Mr. Jonas!", I replied with a smile as we pulled away.

He took a few steps back and turned around one more time.
"No because it's actually very weird what you do, but like in a funny, entertaining way!"
I laughed at his comment and shook my head as he turned around again, grinning and disappeared into the crowd again.
Just then, I spotted Kendall coming in. I hurried over, grinning so widely she instantly knew something was up.
"Finally!" I said, pulling her into a hug.
Kendall gave me a curious look. "Hails, why are you so.." She waved her hand in front of my face, trying to find a fitting word. "Smiley?"
"Guess who I just met?"
I teased, taking her hand as we walked towards the bar.
"Joe Jonas!" I announced with a tone that was way too enthusiastic, and she gasped in surprise.
"Oh, there she goes again!" Kendall held up her hand dramatically to her forehead, squinting as if some imaginary sun would blind her in this building.

"Excuse me?" I laughed, raising an eyebrow.
As we waited for her drink — Tequila Sunrise — she turned to me with a knowing look.
"I remember your old Joe Jonas obsession back when we started modeling!" She groaned. "Please don't tell me we're falling down that rabbit hole again."
She groaned, but her smile showed she was mostly amused.
I playfully rolled my eyes.
"He approached me, can you like.." I made a small pause. "be happy for my 13 year old self?!" I asked.
