Jane was in math class at school. today was extra boring and just slow. She sat with her face on her desk with her long black hair sprawled out on the table. The teacher blabbered on and on and on that it almost sounded like gibberish to Jane. She turned her head to the side and stared at the clock, 2:01 and school got out at 3:30. Blah. Jane began to zone out at the clock just waiting for the hands to click over to 3:30 when all of a sudden. BAM! A text book slammed down on her desk. Jane looked up to see her math teachers eyes glaring into hers "Iqlar, pay attention or that will be the sixth referral to the office this week" her teacher, Mr. Night, said coldly before returning to the front of the room.

Jane reluctantly sat up straight and watched Mr. Night go on a tangent about imaginary numbers and how important they are. But to Jane it was a load of crap. It was the same damn lecture every day because Mr. Night couldn't get past the freaking facts about it all.

Jane sat for an hour and a half before she got to the end of the day where she met up with her best friend Harvey Jackson. Harvey was the type of guy to procrastinate until an hour due and still get the best grade in class. Jane never understood how he did it but never questioned it. She never questioned anything anymore. not after she lost her mom and got stuck with her stupid alcoholic stepdad. Luckily Jane had Harvey through it all and he kinda kept her sane after it all.

"So...How was math?" Harvey asked, as they were walking over to his house. Harvey was living with his parents in a rich neighborhood in a huge house. But Harvey nor his parents are the stereotypical rich family. Harvey's father was a famous scientist and his mother was a CEO and man to Jane they were the nicest people in the world.

Jane completely ignored Harvey's question about math and continued walking to his house. Once they got there Harvey's parents had left a note to them saying 'We are at work and will be home around midnight. Stay safe!'.

"Well then..." Harvey said, starting up the stairs before turning around to see if Jane was following him "I need to show you something!" He said. Jane just looked at Harvey suspiciously before speaking "This wont kill us right?"

"I have no idea!"

"You idiot..."

They walked into Harvey's room and Jane's eyes landed on a peridot colored pyramid around the size of a baseball. She stared at the pyramid for a while before Harvey picked it up and spoke "I found this at a thrift store! got the thing for a dollar fifty..." Harvey then held up the pyramid to his overhead light. The light reflected on the pyramid and cast a beautiful tint around the room. Harvey then set it down and headed over to his computer "Im gonna do some research on the weird pyramid thingy!" he said, typing in the password "And how do you know this will lead us to anything?" Jane replied, in an uninterested tone. Harvey shrugged and started doing some random things on his computer.

Jane picked up the pyramid and examined it for a few seconds. She turned it around and tried to move the corners of it to see if there was anything inside of it. She went to toss the pyramid on Harvey's bed when it started glowing "Wait what!?" Jane announced. Harvey turned around in his swivel chair to look at the pyramid glowing in Jane's hand "Crazy cool!" he shouted, stumbling out of his chair and walking over eventually placing his own hand on it.

The pyramid then let out a huge beam of light "WHAT THE HECK?!?" Jane yelled, as Harvey started to panic "WHAT DID WE DO?!?" she yelled, at Harvey.

"more like what did you do" Harvey responded, in a sassy yet concerned tone.

"ME?! what did I do!?"

"You made the weird triangle thingy glow!"

"It's a pyramid you dumby!"

"I failed English in sixth grade!"

"That would be math not english!"

"Like I care!?"

The two were then engulfed in light that practically blinded them. The light seemed to last for hours before clearing up. Jane and Harvey looked around their new surroundings before Harvey whispered "what. the. actual. frick." they were standing in a town center that either one of them knew of. There were dead trees everywhere and bland bordered up houses and buildings. The sky was a horrible shade of blue-ish gray and the grass was long gone. Where there once was Harvey's gaming set up was now a little building labeled 'Shop' and where there was once Harvey's bed was now a fountain pouring green unfiltered water that disgusted the high schoolers.

"Where are we...?" Harvey whispered over to Jane

"No idea...but I feel that this place is bad news" She responded quickly before turning her gaze to the pyramid still in her hands.

"What are you?" She said, to the pyramid. Nothing responded and basically crickets started chirping "Ugh....lets just figure out a way home" she said, turning to Harvey who was already wandering off. Jane sighed and followed after him. Harvey was walking up to the building labeled 'Shop' and checking out the stock which included a flashlight, a first aid kit, a pack of food, some random coupons, and a phone book. Jane looked around at everything then looked at Harvey "Well this is useless" she said looking inside the dark area where the shop owner should be finding no one there. Harvey then nodded and walked off with Jane following close behind.

As the two left a face appeared from the shop. It was full yellow and lacked hair, ears, a nose, and eyebrows. All the face had was two soulless pure black eyes and a horrible blank smile with no real emotion. It stared at the two as they left the quickly disappeared back into the darkness of the shop. A moment or two after the face disappeared a hand appeared from the darkness and turned a sign from 'Open' to 'Closed' before disappearing with the face.
