Just when you were starting to think you'd figured everything out a man suddenly pops into the car right next to you. You start to scream but he puts his hand over your mouth. "It's ok I'm an angel there's no need to fear me." You blink completely shocked did he just say what you think you heard? "yo cass it's been awhile buddy!" dean says a big smile on his face. "Cass? Angel what's going on here?" you feel like you've been left out of something. "Hey cass man this is our new traveling buddy... why don't you guys play nice back there." Sam giggles. Castiel gives you an awkward smile. "Hi I'm castiel but they call me Cass so it's cool if you want to call me Cass." He holds his hand out for you to shake it. You hesitate but he's an angel right so you go for it. You smile and turn to look out the window. "Where did you guys find her at?" he looks at them with a very serious look on his face. "Well she was possessed but we took care of that... now she's traveling with us." Cass looks over at you. "She is not protected though... how do you know if she can be trusted?" Sam shrugs. "She did just save us from a siren..." you blush. Their talking about you like you're not there but they know you can hear them.

"Well I can do the thing if you're planning on letting her stay." Sam turns to dean. "Angelic protection?" he says and dean nods. "Do it cass." You spin around wondering what he has planned. He places his hand on you and for a moment you're really confused then you're in a lot of pain. When he lets go you feel like you can't breathe. "What did you just do to me..." you gasp. Castiel smiles awkwardly again. "Now you have protection... from possession." You're still confused when Sam reaches back and points to your chest. You slap him thinking he is trying to grab your boob. "Sam I hardly know you cuddling in your sleep is one thing but seriously!" he blinks and then realizes you thought he was trying to touch you. "No sorry I was pointing... he carved angel stuff into your rib cage to protect you... I wasn't trying to touch you." You turn hot pink. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry... I thought..." you stammer cass puts his hand over your mouth again. "Girls talk too much."

Dean laughs. "Amen cass." Castiel seems confused by this statement. You grab his hand and push it down. "I talk just the right amount thank you very much!" he stares at you blinking. "What are you staring at?" he looks away. "You seem familiar to me... but I can't put my finger on it." You roll your eyes where would you know an angel from. Suddenly castiel turns white as a ghost. "Oh I think I know where it was from..." you raise your eye brow. Cass turns to you. "I'm sorry..." is all he says. "Sorry for what?" your so confused. He just keeps staring at you. "What is it Cass?" Sam says looking back. "well before I ended up on earth I was an angel of god... which you all knew... but I was also a guardian... and that something I wish I had spent more time on..." he turns to you again. "I'm your guardian angel." You turn pale. "But then where were you when I needed you? When I was out on the street fighting for food... trying to stay alive..." you don't believe it. He shakes his head. "We try not to get too involved... but I should have been there more... when your father died I should have been there... "

Sam and dean exchange a worried look. "This whole time you've been on earth... and you never even bothered to help me?" your hands begin to shake. "I realize sorry isn't exactly helping at this point I had a lot going on that I'm not proud of..." you're furious. "And if I didn't happen to be here right now you'd still be ignoring me..." he shakes his head. "That's not true... I lead them right to you." Dean pulls the car over and turns around. "Your saying that it's your fault we walked into that mess because you wanted us to find her?" he nods. "I couldn't just let her die dean... I owe her so much more then that... the truth is I don't know how to be a guardian... I was never much good at it..." you really want to punch him in the face but you're trying really hard to restrain yourself.

"hey I know your upset but you got to calm down... we'll tell you about everything when we get to the bunker... but right now you got to trust us... cass has been hanging with us awhile and we know that some stuff went way wrong for him... its cool if you want to be mad just hear his side of the story first." you stare up at Sam and your about to reply when castiel reaches over and puts his hand on your head. Visions stream through your mind until you have seen all the destruction and felt his pain. Then suddenly it stops and you're left gasping for air again. "cass why'd you do that." Sam said frowning. "Because telling her would take too long." He sits forward in the seat. After seeing everything he's been through you feel like you could forgive him for overlooking you. "If you're still mad at me I understand..." he says without looking back. Dean pulls the car back onto the road. You sit there slumped against the seat. "Did they really do that to you... torture you and try to brainwash you..." he doesn't answer but nods yes.

Now you feel bad all that time you thought your life was horrible but it turns out even angels can get crappy lives too. You can't help but feel compelled to give castiel a hug which he isn't expecting. "I forgive you..." is all you can say because you start to cry. Castiel smiles and pats your back. "Forgiveness... the things you humans are capable of... astounds me still." You sit up and wipe your face off. It starts to get dark after a few hours on the road and jamming out in the car is no longer helping you stay awake. Sam has been asleep in the front for nearly 5 hours and dean nudges him awake. "Hey your turn to drive I need to get some sleep." Dean climbs in the back with you and Sam and castiel sit in the front. You lean up again the window drifting to sleep when dean leans over on you. You sit up for a moment and look. Dean is sleeping and he fell over. You roll your eyes and lean back up against the window. "Don't worry we'll be there by the time the sun comes up." Sammy says yawning. You smile and look out the window. It seems the harder to try to stay awake the more tired you get and soon you fall asleep.
