In a neighborhood full of criminality and poverty, you don't have much. And taking care of a full household with kids can make that life even harder. You never know when the next danger lurks around the dark corner of an alley.
Na Jiri is protecting her five siblings from the cruelty of society and while doing so the only one protecting her is herself. The trouble starts with all the bars around town and goes on with a list of mannerless men that think everyone seemingly weaker that crosses their path is there for them to push around.
Jiri was making breakfast as the sound of rapid footsteps came from upstairs and soon followed in the kitchen.
"Morning." Her one year older brother said as he sat down at the kitchen table "What's for breakfast?"
"Scrambled eggs including bacon. A glass of milk is on the way." Jiri said as she put the plate with food in front of her brother, Jason.
"Woah, look at you. You took things up so fast, you're being mom." The elder chuckled.
"Don't call me that or you'll make your own breakfast." Jiri shook her head and went over to the stove again to finish the rest of the plates for her younger siblings.
Their mom had left not even a few weeks ago and for Jiri it was still a touchy subject but for Jason it seems like it completely wasn't and that annoyed her.
"Oh, and you're just as touchy as her." Jason shook his head slightly before digging into his food.
"Am not." Jiri mumbled.
"Jiri!!"
"What?" The girl yelled back as she heard one of her younger sibling's voices shout out to her.
"Jaehyun is still in the bathroom and I have to go!" Jaehyun's twin brother Jaehyuk explained.
"I'll be there in a minute." Jiri told him as she put two plates in front of the empty seats at the table "Tell June and Jera that these are for them." Jiri said to her older brother and he nodded absently as he stuffed his face with bacon.
Jiri sighed as she walked into the hallway and saw Jaehyuk standing outside of the only bathroom in the house. The twins were thirteen years old and while Jaehyuk was the lively and active twin, Jaehyun buried his face in books.
Jiri stood in front of the bathroom door and knocked once before speaking "Jaehyun there are other people in this house!"
"I need to pee! I just got in." The young boy called from the other side innocently.
"You're reading a book in there. It's not a library. Shut it." Jiri told him and looked down at the other twin "If he doesn't come out in the next three minutes call me again." she said before walking away and back into the kitchen.
She saw her two younger sisters sitting at the table and eating the food she had placed there. The two girls were the youngest of the siblings with June being ten years old and Jera eight years old.
