An: Hey guys! this will be a short chapter. Thank you to anyone who has already read the first few chapters it means alot to me.

It took me forever to come up with a suitable band name for the guys i decided on 'The vestige' but i found out that there is actually an independent band with the same name (they can be found on youtube) they don't have many songs, but after listening to them, I think it fits their vibe.

Thank you again to anyone who decides to stick this story out, chapters will get longer and a storyline worth reading will be coming soon, and of course lots of smut, just be aware this story will have abuse etc involved too, content warnings will always be issued prior to the chapter ~

Running has always been a big part of my life, i enjoyed it. Somewhat anyway. Wether it was physically or mentally, i don't remember a time where i didn't have to run. It was an easy escape, confrontation has never been my thing, maybe i'm just not mentally strong enough for it. Though i suppose there isn't anything wrong with that. With a past like mine which had always been so full on all the time you tend to grow attached to the moments you get alone, unbothered by anyone around you. It's just when i'm most at ease.

The cool afternoon air hit my cheeks as the door shut behind me, 4:15, placing my headphones in before walking out of the front gate. My finger pressing play on my phone before setting off on my run. Heart heart head by Meg Myers blasting into my ears. Her music always helped me with running, it seemed to set off a fire in me. My feet falling one in front of the other as i fell into a semi fast pace. The chilling air stinging my face as i took a deep breath in. This was when i was most at peace with life, nothing but me and nature.

The past few months of my life had been so beyond stressful that i barely had time to myself, i know that with my current living situation that it may stay like that for a while. Though i don't think i'm going to mind, sometimes in life things begin to feel like they're falling into place. As though maybe all the bad times and situations i've been through were over and i'm finally getting the peace i feel i deserve. I couldn't help but look at my surroundings, somehow id fallen onto a long path stretched between a large lake and a abundance of trees. It was calm, quiet.

A small stone wall had been built between two of the smaller trees, maybe it would be a good place to just have a breather. After perching down my eyes closed allowing the cool air to cool me down. The burning sensation of my sweating skin began to tingle as the chilling breeze smothered it into its embrace.

After a while i was interrupted by a ring on my phone,

"Hello" i mustered out in-between jagged breaths, should've brought a water bottle "Hello is this y/n" a similar sounding voice filled my ears, "This is she", "Ah hello, this is Hange, the receptionist you spoke to yesterday upon arrival" no wonder she sounded so familiar, "oh hello", "I'm just calling to let you know that the remainder of your luggage has arrived at reception"

Such a relief that i didn't have to wait days on end, only so long you can live out of a damn bag. "Awesome thank you, ill come collect it as soon as i can" i slipped my phone back into my pocket before running back towards the house.

As I approached the door the guys came pouring out "oh hey y/n, back already" Jean smiled as he shut the door behind him, "yeah, my luggage just came, I was wondering if someone could help me collect it as I don't remember the way very well" he let out a chuckle as he walked over to me, his hand patting my head,
"Of course, I'll come with you" his head turning back to the guys, "I'll meet up with you guys later" they all nodded as Jean began to lead the way towards the reception area.
"Sorry, did I interrupt something?" My eyes glancing at Him, the sunlight bouncing off of his skin, "no you didn't, we were just going to a new concert venue for sound checks and what not" i nodded along as he spoke,
"You have a concert coming up soon or something?" I nervously bit at my lip and he let out a small chuckle,
"Yeah we do, only a small one with around 500 seats, but it'll be our first time as a band. We only recently all joined together ", "when is it? The concert?" My eyes looking up at him once again, "two weeks, why? You wanting to come?" He gave a cheeky grin.

"Actually, i sort of do want to, would that be okay?" i couldn't help but glance away once i said that, it felt sort of personal for some reason, even though i'm certain that he wouldn't mind.

"We actually have a ticket for you, we were hoping you'd want to come" his hand slipping into his jacket pocket, pulling out a thin piece of paper, "for you, M'lady" he chuckled as he tapped it on my head, my hand reaching up to grab it. Once i glanced down i noticed it was actually a pretty well designed ticket, a pale shade of green with metallic black writing covering the surface 'The Vestige' , my eyes glanced up at him as his looked down at me, "you alright?" cocking his eyebrow up at me, "Is this your bands name?" stopping in my tracks so it would be easier to talk.

"Sure is, you not like it?" his face sort of scrunching up in embarrassment, his hand scratching his already messy hair, "no, i think its kind of beautiful actually" his face began to ease, "you do?" my head just nodding,

"a trace or remnant of something that is disappearing or no longer exists" my eyes falling back onto the ticket, tracing my fingers over the surface of the smooth letters, "It's a strange word really isn't it" our eyes meeting once again, "how so" his head nodding to the side, picking up the pace again i finally stood by his side as we made our way towards the reception.

"Think about it, is there really anything that no longer exists?" i could see all the thoughts bouncing around his head as he tried to understand my words, "i mean, when something has once existed in this world, it will forever remain. No matter how long its been gone. Wether its a feeling, a being with a pulse, nature. It's all technically history. In physical form it may no longer be here, but the memories of things never cease to exist."

Warmth from his hand filled my head as i felt his fingers ruffling through my hair, "I suppose you're right, So what makes that name so beautiful to you hm?" a smile forming on the corner of his lips as he looked up at the sky. The hand that had been warming my skin now slipping into his pocket. The random rays of sunlight that would peak through the branches of the trees occasionally brightening up his face. I suppose this is the first time I've really managed to look at him so clearly. Smooth skin, he had trimmed his facial hair since yesterday too, it seems shorter.

His lashes are beautiful too, quite long for a guy, they're exactly the same shade as his hair. . Possibly why i can see them so much clearer in the sunlight, the golden Hughes illuminate his skin perfectly. A small smile began to play on my lips as i looked up to the sky along with him, "I think the name suits you guys, I don't think you guys will disappear or ever cease to exist. I do however think that when the day comes that you guys aren't around you'll become a big part of history. You wont ever fully disappear" i gave his arm a little squeeze, before looking ahead and seeing Hange the receptionist stood with my bags, her arm waving me over as i quickly made my way over.

"You're really something else y/n" He said, as you walked ahead to Hange.
