VARUN'S POV-
My family has been on my case about marriage for ages, lecturing me non-stop about how I'm getting older and need to settle down.
Normally, I'd shrug it off, make excuses, but this time, they were serious. They didn't give me a chance to protest.
Left with no way out, I agreed, but with one condition: I wanted to make sure the girl they chose wasn't just after our name or power-I needed to know she'd truly care for my family as her own.
That's when they suggested a month-long stay at our house, so I could see for myself.
Three days ago,
My father dropped a file on my desk, packed with photos and bios of potential matches, and told me to pick someone.
After scrolling through way too many faces and forced smiles, I was already bored.
Just then, Mumma walked into my room and asked, "So, have you found the girl you want to marry yet?"
I groaned, "Mumma, they all look same. Even in their photos, I can tell by their face they are not my type."
She chuckled, "Alright, let me help." Taking the remaining photos, she selected four and handed them to me.
"Here, see if any of these feel different." I leafed through, and one caught my eye.
"Mumma, I think she seems...different," I said, handing over the photo and bio. Mumma's face lit up when she saw it.
"Oh, Ananya Sharma! She's a sweet girl. I've met her a few times, and she has this warmth about her-that's why I thought she'd be perfect for you."

Mumma's eyes softened. "She's such a bright, cheerful girl. After I met her, I just wanted to see her again. There's something really special about her."
I glanced at her photo once more. She was dressed in a traditional anarkali suit, a delicate dupatta draped gracefully around her shoulders, her hair neatly tied in a bun, and sparkling earrings framing her face.
On her wrist, she wore simple bangles, accentuating her elegance. She looked stunning-almost like she belonged in a painting.
