PAGKAUWI sa mansyon ay agad na dumiretso si Selene sa dining hall. Just as she expected, Apollo was there.

Natigilan ito sa akmang pagsubo nang mapaangat ng tingin sa direksyon niya. Bumakas ang gulat sa mukha nito pagkakita sa kaniya.

“You’re here already. How’s the tea party? I thought it would take longer, so I ate first.”

Halos hindi naman maipinta ang mukha ni Selene nang makaupo na siya. Agad naman siyang pinaghanda ng mga katulong na nandoon.

“Well, it was boring, just like I predicted it to be.”

Apollo chuckled. “No need to go through with the details. Just by looking at your face, I could already guess what happened.”

“But at least I gained something.” Nagsimula na rin siyang kumain.

Apollo stared at her. It seems that he totally got his attention. “Now, I’m curious. What is it?”

“Not what but who,” pagtatama niya rito.

Tila naguluhan naman si Apollo sa naging sagot niya.

“I gained an acquaintance and ally. It’s Felicity Hailard from House Hailard,” she added.

Lumikha ng malakas na tunog ang ginawang paglapag ni Apollo sa mga kubyertos.

She has already expected his reaction. After all, the original Selene humiliated Felicity on Apollo’s birthday last year. So he would probably be familiar with her.

Muntik ng maibuga ni Apollo ang tubig na iniinom nang dahil sa sinabi niya. Habang ang ibang knights naman sa isang tabi kasama sina Levi at Finn, pati na rin si Emil at iba pang mga katulong ay halatang nagpipigil lang ng tawa.

“Now you even dare to mock a duke.” He faked a smile.

She looked at him with her innocent face. “It’s not mockery but a compliment, Your Grace.”

Ngunit natigilan si Selene nang mapansin ang kulay pula na envelope na nakalapag sa isang tabi. It seems to be an invitation from the imperial family due to its royal crest.

“What’s that?”

Napatingin din doon ang duke at tila ba ngayon lang nito biglang naalala ang tungkol doon. “Oh. I almost forgot to tell you. It was an invitation for the upcoming hunting competition.”

The hunting competition. It’s a yearly event held at the Granville Kingdom. Those nobles that were famous for their abilities and had the skill usually joined the hunt. It often takes place in the northern part of the forest lying in the imperial palace.

But what made it exciting is that anyone could join the competition regardless of status or gender. The forest has two zones. The safe and dangerous zone.
