"You. Me. Hogsmeade. Tomorrow" Romie demands, leaving no room for objection.
Regulus slowly lifts his head from his book, briefly wondering if he's managed to land himself into a similar alternate dimension,
"Come again...

𝕽omie widens her eyes big, putting on her best wowed face for the passionate facts being spat at her back-to-back.
"They have scawy yellow eyes, like Eeyore! But I have gay like daddy"
A loud snort sounds from the wide open doorway, the culprit hurrying along the landing hallway before Romie's able shoot her perfected silent look that speaks for itself. Since it's technically a holiday and they're running on a tight schedule, just this once, she lets it go, grabbing the squishy sponge from the bathroom counter and ever so gently dabbing the end that's dipped in the dark paint on the five year old's face.
Leo Black, bless him, remains non the wiser to his brother's inapt amusement towards his letter R pronunciation struggle, far too excited about his costume. He doesn't even flinch at the coldness of the face paint going directly on his warm skin. Brave lion by day, dangerous dragon by night. Not just any old dragon, Romie made the enormous mistake of saying earlier, a magnificent Hungarian Horntail.
"And they can shoot fire up to fif—fif—fifty feet! Daddy said that's neawy as much as you, Mummy" He proclaims matter-of-factly, his little sweater clad arms crossed, causing Romie's eyebrow to quirk.
Satisfied with the turnout of the face paint, she swaps out the used sponge for a fine-tooth comb, tossing the former into the sink to deal with later. Carefully pouring a drop or two more of Sleekeazy hair potion into the palms of her hands, she neatens up the relevant style she had already done with his precious raven curls, muttering as she glides the comb up from the sides.
"Daddy said that, did he?"
Leo lets out a positive hum of confirmation, distinctly remembering the conversation months ago when his dad tucked him in for the night. That's why his mum was so tired, passed out on the living room couch after dinner with his dad's old quidditch jersey stretched over her swollen belly. She had been shooting fire really far, all day long, to look after the baby.
"Well it's you that'll be shooting all the fire tonight, Mr Dragon" Romie declares, placing down the comb and spinning Leo around to see himself in the mirror.
The immediate gasp swells her claimed heart to the brink of explosion, overjoyed that she has the ability, the chance to go above and beyond for her babies, make their childhood that little bit more special. It's frequently in the back of her mind that it's a luxury some don't have and she feels like she owes it to them to make the most of it while she can.
"My hair looks just like the black scales and spikes!" Leo marvels, ghosting his hand over the line of tiny buns running down the centre of his head.
Romie catches hold of his hand before he manages to smudge his makeup ahead of leaving and presses a kiss as soft as her voice to his palm,
"You're absolutely right, lion, it does. Why don't you go and get your shoes on and I'll tell Daddy to come and see?"
