The scene on set was intense as hell. Jisoo was practically putting her soul up for auction with how much emotion she was pouring into her character's final breakdown. Tears streamed down her face as she let out her last gut-wrenching wail. Eris was standing dead serious behind the camera, not blinking, not breathing, just waiting.
When Jisoo's sobs faded, Eris finally broke her trance and let her arm drop with a smirk. "Cut. That was... perfect."
Everyone let out a breath like they'd all been holding it since sunrise. There was this murmur of praise around the set, people dabbing at their eyes, muttering how amazing Jisoo was. And then, out of nowhere, Eris clapped her hands and announced, "Alright, that's a wrap for today!"
The crew stared at her like she'd just grown another head. It was barely noon, and they had a full day of filming ahead.
"What?" Eris asked, raising a brow. "You don't want it?" She was already half—turning to take back her words when everyone around her shook their heads wildly.
Pip, the one member of the LA crew they'd managed to drag to Seoul, raised her hand. "Uh, why are we wrapping so early?"
Eris shrugged. "I have a gala to attend tonight. I don't want to show up looking like I just crawled out of a bunker." She flashed a grin, but Pip's eyes widened, and soon the entire crew erupted with giggles and gasps.
"Oooooh, our dearest director has a date~" one of the lighting guys teased.
A storm of teasing followed, some calling her "the date queen" and others playfully mimicking an imaginary boyfriend or girlfriend awaiting her arrival. Jisoo didn't join in, but she managed a small, tight smile, trying to mask a bit of jealousy creeping up.
"Alright, alright," Eris sighed, raising a hand. "Everyone go home, sleep in, and don't be late tomorrow. If you are, I'm taking back your weekend."
Eris retreated to her makeshift office, where she found Jihyo sprawled on the couch like a cat. She was buried in her phone, barely looking up as Eris plopped into her chair, scrolling through her notifications. Mostly, just Sana's endless stream of memes (the woman had a gift for them), Wendy's classic, all-caps rants, and then... there was Irene's message. Again.
From: Irene
Can we meet today? She hadn't answered Irene's last message. Or the one before that, or... really, any of them since the coffee invite, because frankly, she had no idea what Irene actually wanted and partly because Wendy had done the whole, "Do NOT, under any circumstances, meet with my ex" spiel for what felt like the hundredth time that week.
Eris sighed, tugging at the collar of her turtleneck. For once, it felt like it was strangling her, and Jihyo raised an eyebrow.
"You look like that turtle's about to eat you," Jihyo teased, snickering. "What, you got post-hookup regret or something?"
